While that doesn't surprise me, they would have to really underestimate the pushback that would receive. Look at Belarus. They try to pull something like this, and for all the supporters they have, the protests that will ensue will make his inauguration (and possibly even BLM itself, no offence)look like mild disobedience in comparison.

And I guarantee it will make people wake up. Know why? When my Gov tried to Prorogue Parliament last year, it caused not just a backlash but a political awakening in me.

I know at least four people who are pretty vocally pro-Trump, so yah. One retired cop, one retired fireman, one businessman and one guy who is just a cranky old goose. One of them, who moved to Tennessee last year, wore pro-Trump clothes to the polls and then complained about socialist conspiracies when he was turned away for doing something that is clearly not legal (and not cool). So there ya go.

You do a lot of BSAB concern trolling for someone that can't even vote in this election.

Valid criticism. Well, maybe not the trolling part, but the can't vote part is fair. I'm just an optimist I guess, as in I hope people don't take this lying down in the US, because if they don't and win as a result, it gives me hope that my country can do the same if the same kind of possibility ever happened to us.

(I'm also assuming that they immediately get called out for trying to rig the election results by news media not naked Fox.)

Also, BSAB? I don't think both sides are bad. One is just a political party while the other is corrupt to the core.

Most polls have Trump still leading in Texas but the fact that it’s in play is pretty huge. In 2012, Romney won Texas by 15.8 points. Trump won the state by 9. The fact that it’s a toss up in 2020 could have big ramifications for the future. If Texas becomes a blue state by 2024, it’s all over for the republicans. Obviously demographic shifts are a big reason for the change but there has also been a huge migration from other parts of the country. Texas, Arizona and parts of the South are seeing the nation’s largest population bumps and the people moving there from more liberal states. Living on the coasts has become insanely expensive. I’ve seen first hand the cost of living in California force a lot of people to look for jobs and housing elsewhere. I don’t think Biden will take Texas next week but if things continue in this direction, we won’t see another republican president for the foreseeable future. That is, if Trump allows us to have elections and doesn’t just appoint Don Jr. his successor.

One guy was pretty happy to brag how Trump was leading Texas. Then I dropped the sad realization that Texas had been a Republican state since 1980 and the shift its going under and now a toss up is WILD. If by some miracle Biden wins it , your gonna see fucking heads explode.

Trump losing Texas definitely would be a major blow to not only Trump but the Republican Party as a whole. Though I wouldn’t count on it to happen. It’ll be very close, but I still stay Trump still ultimately wins Texas(albeit, barely).

More and more Californians have moved to Texas, so it could be them causing the "fly in the ointment"

    Wow! That's unexpected!

    Seriously?

Judge blocks Election Day ban on the open carry of guns near Michigan polling places

DETROIT — A judge on Tuesday blocked a ban on the open display of guns near Michigan polling places on Election Day, agreeing with critics who said a Democratic secretary of state failed to follow state law with her sudden order.

Gun-rights groups accused Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson of exceeding her authority in banning people from openly carrying guns within 100 feet of voting sites. She acted after authorities recently busted up an alleged plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

But Benson failed to go through a formal rule-making process required under state law, Judge Christopher Murray said.

Compliance “is no mere procedural nicety,” Murray said. “Instead, our appellate courts have repeatedly emphasized the importance of the democratic principles embodied in the (law), which requires notice and an opportunity to be heard on the subject under consideration.”
