Is anyone else as upset as I am at the Secret Service issuing a statement that said they would follow the results of the election and that that are willing and able to remove any and all trespassers that are in the White House on inauguration day?

I am not upset they made the statement. I am upset that the state of our politics made such a statement have to be made in the first place.

i have never heard of the secret service making such a statement.

Interesting factoid: Both Trump and Biden will both end up being one-term presidents. In Trump’s case, it will be because he lost re-election, while in Biden’s case it won’t get a second because he won’t seek re-election how old he will be(Biden will be 81 by the time his first term ends in 2024).

Dude 8 months is long, 4 years is longer than that. Who knows how things will be then?

Biden is pretty healthy, exercises and he's gonna get the best medical treatment in the planet at the Oval Office (those doctors saved Trump, an extremely unhealthy man, from COVID-19, Biden's a cakewalk).

As Allan Lichtman said, elections are based on governance not campaigning. How Biden governs in the WH, how his party and campaign manage that message, that will decide the next election. Older man Truman, who was like real square daddio by 1948 standards beat the far younger Dewey in an election campaign that a lot of people, especially Dems, need to study more in detail.

This country is way too comfortable for a civil war. At least back in the 1860’s you could see how a group of men living on plantations were terrified of their economy being upended because you could literally fall from regal to being a desperate peasant without a pot to piss on.

Middle class comfortable people get radicalized into terrorism all the time. School shooters are from that class. The Columbine kids played video games got into white supremacy and became murder-suicide Bill and Ted.

Like I said...right now America isn't in Civil War mode, but it's not exactly for the reasons you list.

I can only find what former agents have said, nothing about a new statement.

That being said, if he figures out a way to vacate the vote, no route exists for him to prolong his administration nor appoint his deputy, Vice President Mike Pence.

Rather, the first ever undetermined US election would result in the third-in-line assuming the presidency. In this case, that's Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Not a lot of good choices for him save the obvious; concede and move on.

I want Biden to arrive and tell Trump to "get off my lawn".

First thing Biden needs to do is do a top-to-bottom hygiene sweep of the entire compound. The WH is a COVID hotzone and filled with droplets...and remember the details of the Rose Garden Massacre aren't fully known you know. Heck he might occupy that guest house a little further away in the meantime. Then he has to change the entire stuff.

If I were Biden I'd also do a real check, find hidden bugs and microphones, Trump is totally compromised by Putin and is lackadaisacal about security even when he isn't being actively malicious, so I'd also make sure that Putin or Kim or Xi and others haven't somehow put hidden bugs and stuff across the WH...I mean I am sure the SS (a true non-partisan organization) would be careful but Trump has himself surrounded by underlings and others who don't fall entirely in that detail.

And I don't know if it's a thing, but I'd also change the nuclear codes just to be careful because who knows if the Football hasn't been compromised?

Some of the bot accounts I monitor (sorry, that sounds so self-important) on twitter went completely silent 48 hours ago. Accounts that usually tweeted like 20 tweets per hour, easily, sometimes 20 hours a day.

Others are trying hard to amplify the "rigged election" myths, but twitter is deleting a lot.

And some accounts have finally been deleted by twitter.

There is also the tradition where the outgoing and incoming presidents meet and the outgoing president fills in the new president on a lot of policies and secrets that he needs to know.

There have sometimes been conflicts. Carter allegedly was frustrated with Reagan because he felt Reagan wasn't paying any attention although we know now there was a good reason Reagan couldn't pay attention. But can we even imagine that meeting between Biden and Trump? Biden will feel like he's babysitting a spoiled child and will probably have to have others give him the information Trump skipped or misrepresented. Not to mention the Secret Service having to drag Trump out.
