It's still incredibly dangerous. In 1928, nazis were more or less that when they attempted their coup and failed. Five years later they had the most votes out of the election (but not the majority). In the US political system, where it's almost a given Biden will not be able to suppress the far-right, which thus knows it is strong enough to elect someone like Trump, it's incredibly dangerous. The far right is definitely not going anywhere and in fact will be emboldened by what happened yesterday. They stormed into the Capital with ease and were taking selfies with the police. They made their point. They can get away with anything because "law and order" does not apply to them (or at least not the same way it applies to POC and left wing protestors).

As long as ring wing media exists and is allowed to propagate conspiracy theories and hate, things will continue to get worse. This morning, a Fox and Friends correspondent called the terrorist "freedom loving patriots." Fox, OAN, and Twitter produce non-stop cycles of disinformation. This is the world we live in now and I have no idea how to rein it in.

Looking to the future I don't think the current crop of far-right politicians can do anything like what Trump has done. Trump had a huge advantage from the start. He was already a celebrity and had been a household name in America since the 1980s. He had presented himself as the billionaire business man and an outsider (obviously all bullshit). He's a boorish moron but he has charisma. Because of that he was able to win over undecided voters or people who would not regular vote in general. He even did pretty well with the minority groups who he has been vilifying. People like Hawley and Cruz can spew the same toxic crap but it's not going to speak to anyone other than extremists. So maybe the far-right will look to another "outsider" or celebrity.

Division is just another word for politic. it's healthy to have debate, opposing views of the world and what is needed to make it a better place. Usually, when you have no division, you're not even in a dictatorship, you're in a totalitarian regime. Like, say, North Korea.

What's not okay is that Far-Right morons knows that they can do whatever they want and they won't risk more than a short time in jail - maybe. Those peoples are irreedemable. You can't bring back someone who believes Hitler was right to the path of human decency. It's just impossible.

Capitalism is. it's the new model of totally unregulated, predatory capitalism which, once the big boogeyman of the USSR was down had nothing else to fear and thus destroyed as much social security nets all over the world as it could. Half of the terrorists who assaulted the Capitol yesterday wouldn't have been here if instead of having to live in a country where remaining healthy, going through school up to university, etc. wasn't costing so much that a lot of people just can't afford it. because when those kind of peoples have the same skin color than those who peddled the lies that because of their appearance they deserve more than those other people, they'll listen to it. People wants a decent life, and if they can't achieve it, they'll try to find a reason why. And believing the liars who tells them that it's all ebcause slaves were freed and Natives weren't slaughtered to the last and what not and all you need to do to get a better life is to keep going as it is but also attacking those minorities? They'll listen to it.
