    Another eyebrow-raising moment from trump

In exclusive interview, Trump slams Sisolak, defends indoor rally

President Donald Trump told the Review-Journal in an exclusive interview Sunday that he did not believe he was subject to Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak’s order limiting gatherings to 50 people when he addressed a crowd of thousands at an indoor rally in Henderson.

The president blamed the Democratic governor for forcing his campaign to abandon plans to hold an outdoor rally Sunday at Cirrus Aviation near McCarran International Airport and a Saturday rally in Reno, which was moved to an outdoor venue in Minden.
Trump said in his interview with the Review-Journal that he is not afraid of getting the coronavirus from speaking at the indoor rally.

“I’m on a stage and it’s very far away,” Trump said. “And so I’m not at all concerned.”

Not sure why trump is so upset with Sisolak for enforcing rules that the trump administration set up.

He's upset because these rules are for the 'losers' and the 'poor people' or whatever else he calls the rest of us. he's upset because he believes that no rules should apply to him, no laws, no responsibility.

He actually believes he's an autocrat who can whatever he wants, even if it kills people. As long as it makes him happy.

Emphasis on “very far away”, meaning he doesn’t want the great unwashed masses who mindlessly cheer his name anywhere near him, especially since they aren’t wearing masks and he’s scared sick of the risk of contracting the virus. All these overblown rallies are now nothing more than super spreader events that will bump up the COVID numbers.

Some Republican airheads will no doubt claim that this is exactly like Roger Stone planning a fascist coup.

They already are, or something like that. I think I saw some mention of it on Twitter.

South Dakota’s Attorney General involved in fatal crash

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg was involved in a traffic accident that led to a fatality, Gov. Kristi Noem said Sunday.

The accident happened about 10:30 p.m. Saturday in Hyde County, authorities said. Noem announced that Secretary of Public Safety Craig Price will oversee the Highway Patrol’s investigation into the accident.

Price did not release any further details on the crash.

Ravnsborg said in a statement, “I am shocked and filled with sorrow following the events of last night.”

He said he was cooperating with the investigation.

Ravnsborg, a Republican, was elected alongside Noem in 2018. He was previously a partner in a Yankton law firm and deputy state’s attorney for Union County. He is an Army veteran.

Trump is making the pandemic worse, as well as the economy while sucking up to Putin and other autocrats...and Johnson is doing this, what Trump was impeached for.

@SenRonJohnson going after Joe Biden, indicating his Homeland Security will release a report within a week on Hunter Biden's ties to Ukraine: "We're going to learn about Vice President Biden's unfitness for office."

Tim Bormann, Ravnsborg's spokesman, told the Rapid City Journal that Ravnsborg was not injured in the crash. He also said Ravnsborg "drinks lightly," and doesn't think he was drinking at the dinner. A spokesperson for the South Dakota Department of Public Safety said details about the car accident, like whether alcohol was a factor and if any charges are pending, are expected to be shared on Monday.

Trump Health Aide Alleges Broad Conspiracies and Warns of Armed Revolt

WASHINGTON — The top communications official at the powerful cabinet department in charge of combating the coronavirus accused career government scientists on Sunday of “sedition” in their handling of the pandemic and warned that left-wing hit squads were preparing for armed insurrection after the election.

Michael Caputo, 58, the assistant secretary of public affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services, said without evidence that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was harboring a “resistance unit” determined to undermine President Trump.

Mr. Caputo, who has faced criticism for leading efforts to warp C.D.C. weekly bulletins to fit Mr. Trump’s pandemic narrative, suggested that he personally could be in danger.

“You understand that they’re going to have to kill me, and unfortunately, I think that’s where this is going,” Mr. Caputo, a Trump loyalist installed by the White House in April, told followers in a video he hosted live on his personal Facebook page. Mr. Caputo has 5,000 Facebook friends, and the video has been viewed more than 850 times. It has been shared by 44 followers.
Mr. Caputo delivered his broadside against scientists, the media and Democrats after a spate of news reports over the weekend that detailed his team’s systematic interference in the C.D.C.’s official reports on the pandemic and other disease outbreaks. Former and current C.D.C. officials described to Politico, The New York Times and other outlets how Mr. Caputo and a top aide routinely demanded the agency revise, delay and even scuttle the C.D.C.’s core public health updates, called Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports, that they believed undercut Mr. Trump’s message that the pandemic is under control.

Those reports, deemed “the holiest of the holy” by one former top health official for their international respect and importance, have traditionally been so shielded from political interference that political appointees see them only just before they are published.

Mr. Caputo on Sunday complained on Facebook that he was under siege by the media and said that his physical health was in question and his “mental health has definitely failed.”

More cities and states are opening bars and restaurants despite mounting evidence of potential danger

In New York City, diners will be able to have a meal inside a restaurant at the end of the month, something that hasn’t happened there since the coronavirus pandemic began. In Florida, bars are set to reopen Monday for the first time since late June.

One decision appears to be riskier than the other, according to an analysis of cellphone and coronavirus case data by The Washington Post.

States that have reopened bars experienced a doubling in the rate of coronavirus cases three weeks after the opening of doors, on average. The Post analysis — using data provided by SafeGraph, a company that aggregates cellphone location information — found a statistically significant national relationship between foot traffic to bars one week after they reopened and an increase in cases three weeks later.

The analysis of the cellphone data suggests there is not as strong a relationship between the reopening of restaurants and a rise in cases, nor with bar foot traffic and cases over time, except for a handful of states.

At this rate, Covid cases will be spiking again mid-late October (if not sooner). Just in time for the election...

Truly, is there no problem that cannot be solved by ignoring it?
