I learned about the Holocaust in fourth grade. We even watched the tv mini-series starring Meryl Streep. Of course, we also learned about it in Hebrew School. Maybe because there's such a large Jewish population in Brooklyn, where I went to school, there was a demand for it to be taught as early as kids could handle it.

It's been over 20 years for me, but while I know we eventually learned about WWII in High School, I don't remember how much we covered the Holocaust. Most of what I learned about that was from Sunday and Hebrew schools.

I do know that I had no idea that we had concentration camps for US citizens of Japanese descent until I read George Takai's autobiography.

Speaking to a Congresswoman who is investigating the forced hysterectomies on detained immigrants, she noted that one of the immigrants, who is both a witness and victim of said procedure, after being detained for THREE YEARS, was suddenly put on a list to be deported immediately. And even after a congressman had secured a 72 hour stay on the order, the immigrant was still put on a plane to be deported this morning. Fortunately, they were able to have her removed from the plane so that they could continue the investigation with her assistance.

You seem to be responding to a separate argument. It's perfectly fine to say it's a good thing that Democrats are becoming more socialist, and it doesn't contradict what I said in any way.

Well you have to be pragamatic, if your only feasible options are a coal fired power plant, or a Nuclear power plant than I'd go fossil fuel everytime.

Nuclear power plants require large amounts of radioactive waste to be stored, they are an armageddon nightmare when they go into meltdown (Chernobyl/Fukushima Daiichi) not to mention a jihad terrorist's wet dream. I don't believe conservatives are being sincere when they advocate for nuclear power.

There are nutjobs on the far left that use global warming as a stick to say capitalism is incompatible with civilization (I had to live with one at one point)
There are nutjobs on the right (Including Donald Trump) who deny science, and think that man made global warming is a hoax.

Renewable energy has become a non partisan issue that has moved beyond them. It is now a hotbed for capitalists and entrepreneurial growth, whether it be a source for electricity or powering automobiles.

The United States is behind the 8 ball on this because the current President doesn't believe in global warming and supporting initiatives to support renewables, he's a caveman stuck in the past.

Renewable energy isn't going to meet our current energy needs.

It seems to me that if someone truly believes that climate change is an immediate existential threat, they should support nuclear power, despite the downsides.

It is also worth noting that there have been significant innovation in nuclear power that make it safer than it used to be.

Democratic Socialists, not 'socialists'. It's weird for a guy so stuck on 'accuracy' you can't get that part right, but then, you still think the Democrats support 'open borders' while pretending that having a bunch of lunatics spouting gobbledygook about Bill Gates putting tracers in Covid Vaccine isn't representative of your party.

We can't really compare the two things.

Democratic Socialism is a functional form of government and coherent political philosophy. Even so, it is not one supported by the broader Democratic party, and membres of the DSA aren't exactly known for being embraced by the mainstream party.

QAnon is sheer lunacy and it's being embraced by the party and the president.
