People want to see Democrats fighting, even if they lose. They need to be seen trying to do something, and talk about wanting to do something, so they need people to vote for them.

They shouldn't preemptively give up before they even start.

Fox news does not let a thing like facts get in the way of a good scare tactic. Today the Latino children are victims because it helps their cause of dangerous Mexicans with guns., Tomorrow they are a burden on America to help push the fact that Whites are being replaced.

They should absolutely be talking about it and politicizing the hell out of it and I'm all for making the GOP take a vote, but we should remember that the only thing people like less than a lack of fight is losing, and people absolutely will blame the Dems for not overcoming a filibuster. We've all seen it happen before.

I'm just not convinced that storming to hold a vote today or a week from now is going to make any fundamental difference politically, or move any votes due to those factors.

The problem is Democrats won't be talking about this before too long.

In the late 60’s when the Black Panthers were stockpiling weapons, whites were collectively losing their **** in droves, scared to death that blacks had guns. Even the NRA was petrified. Little to nothing has changed today, white gun nuts will defend the Second Amendment to their last breath….unless people of color have their grubby mitts on guns, THEN they preach control.

Gov. Abbott is giving a press conference on the shooting right now. As he was turing it over to the Lt. Gov, Beto approached the stage and words were exchanged. It was hard to make out exactly what was said, but it seems like Beto was pointing out that this was a preventable tragedy and demanding to know what Abbott was going to do about it. All the Republicans on stage, being such stand up people they are, shouted him down, belittled him, and demanded he be removed, and he was eventually escorted out.

It should be noted that in Abbotts' remarks, he talked a lot about mental health. I don't think he mentioned guns once.

On the shooter, apparently, he posted three things to his Facebook:

1. I'm going to shoot my grandma

2. I shot my grandma

3. I'm going to shoot up an elementary school

He is now talking about the "Real Guns Laws in places like New York, Chicago, and La. And more people are shot in a weekend in Chicago then are shot in Texas schools. clearly Chicago teaches more gun laws are not the answer and dont work."
