Seeing some of the reactions to Nevada, where it seems the Libertarian candidate Jo Jorgensen actually ate into Red votes...it seems the Republicans are feeling about Third Party the way Dems felt about Nader back in 2000.

It feels strangely cathartic. The good news is that this means Libertarians are finished. The Dems are too cuddly but the GOP is unforgiving, they will ensure that Libertarians never become a factor as a party in any election ever.

I dont know how it is in every state but I think in my state poll watchers have to be approved before hand and agreed to by the county election board and both sides. Press that are going to cover have to get permission before hand. A person just cant show up on election day or when they are counting ballets and say Oh yea I am a poll watcher/member of the press. Which from what I understand a lot fo these GOP "Workers/Press" being turned away tried to do.

If he was approved ahead of time and turned away that is not right. But pretty much all these so called workers are people who showed up last minute and tried to force their way inside.
Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. The fact that this guy also tries to insinuate makes his story sound even more sus.

There have been several experiments showing that if you actually get Biden supporters and Trump supporters face to face in a room, that they come away understanding each other much better. The problem is the bubbles and the mobs and the peer pressure. Take that away and talk one on one and you can't strip the humanity from the other. You have to actually listen and think for yourself. Mobs and mass demonization spurred on by catered info-tainment and social media algorithms are ripping the fabric of society apart.
A lot of that is just common courtesy and a general preference for avoiding confrontation. But if you're a Trump voter, and you believe in the same kind of things that he believes in, then I may see you as a human being and even have fun hanging out with you, but just because we can have a beer together doesn't mean that the crazy shit that you're saying is any less crazy. And honestly, I don't understand why it's always conservatives that get their panties in a bunch about this, the other side doesn't irrationally hate you because of who you are, we just think your ideas are harmful and that we as a society would be better off if we didn't listen to you. If anything, American liberals are TOO tolerant of conservatives, if you really wanna go find common ground, go talk to some Mexican immigrants or Muslim refugees and try to see things from their point of view for once.

I am just ready for this to be over. Announce Biden is the winner and then move on to Trump lawsuit BS, beat that and then lets get to work on fixing the mess he made this last four years.

Have a good long, hard look at Critical Race Theory and Post-Modernism and then tell me that the right are the only crazy ones. There are plenty of crazy ideas on the right, but they don't have a monopoly on insanity.

I'm sorry, but that's bologna. I'm a moderate conservative minority, and I can't even begin to tell you about the unbridled hatred, vile death threats, and bigotry I've been assaulted with by the left. I have friends who have been physically assaulted by Antifa simply for going to a rally for Democrats who switched to Trump. The far left goes after people right of center and not only tries to make their lives hell, but they also try to take their jobs away, make them destitute and unable to feed their children. I've seen it happen multiple times to people in real life. I've been terrified to speak about any political ideas I have at work for fear of being ruined, even though my ideas are perfectly moderate and wouldn't have raised an eyebrow 10 years ago. The left is far less tolerant than you are suggesting it is. I don't understand how so many moderate liberals fail to see that the far left does this to people.

In some ways the whole delay in getting the final tallies is Trump's fault. If it weren't for that fact that COVID cases have been spiking again, there would be more people willing to vote in person. I had no problem since Indiana as a very liberal window of a couple of weeks of early voting. This should be the norm everywhere

Nothing insane in humanistic and hermeneutic ideas published in peer reviewed academic journals, my dude.

There are plenty of crazy ideas on the right, but they don't have a monopoly on insanity.
Only a monopoly on never taking responsibility.

The fact is there are close to 69 million people who voted for Trump. How does the country come back from that in the future I have no idea.

And I hear people saying well they are racists/nutjobs/etc. that cant be reached. The thing is if we want a untied country we cant just discount everyone who voted for Trump. There has to be a way to try and reach at least some of them. I have faced this. I voted for Trump in 2016. I have pretty much always been treated as a rascist/homophbe/right wing nut job when ever I talked to my Dem friends or went to Democratic events.

On the flip side Dems are all treated as socialists who want to destroy the government and want to give everything to the illegals and kill babies.

This election just made me see just how far apart we really are. (not that the last few years havnt given me some idea)
First off, as others have said, were it not for the pandemic, Trump most likely would have won. But the pandemic hit people where they live and scared them.

A lot of people have been saying, for the last four years, that, if they really want a second Trump term, just keep proclaiming that Conservatives are all racist, bigoted deplorables. Most Conservatives don't perceive themselves that way at all. They feel like taking what they perceive as a solid law and order stance makes them racists in the eyes of Liberals. They really believe that aborting a fetus is murder no matter how early, that it's against their religion even when their holy books don't support that. They think they are the heroes and that the nation has gone stark-raving insane. Think about it. Really try to set aside our modern knowledge and cultural mindset.

To most Conservatives, "God" is absolutely real and only the Christian god. Abortion is murder. Gay and Trans rights are crazy and a joke. They don't believe there are significant differences based on race regarding how people are legally treated. They think that when someone commits a crime, you punish them, none of this "nonsense" of why they did it or cultural and economic arguments. I could go on and on. Bottom line: they think the country has gone mad.

Remember that episode of the original Star Trek where two people who were the same person from alternate realities were trying to kill each other?

Kirk: So you're the murdering monster, the destroyer of all that is good and true, the perverter of the minds of children, the end of decency as we know it? Strange. You don't seem to be any of those things.

Lazarus: Oh, but I am all of those things and worse- from his point of view. Of course, from my point of view, he is all of those things.

Of course, the difference is that, for the most part, the Liberal side has facts, knowledge, information and science on it's side. The Conservative side goes against all of those things.

We might think we just proved we don't need them and maybe, in terms of vast majority opinion, we don't. But the Midwest is filled with such people. I readily admit I don't know how to reach them while still being true to reality and helping people.

But I don't believe Conservatives are all racists and so on. Of course, it all depends on how you define racism, which is a social concept.

What you think of as this living hell created by the far left is really just how everyday life is in America for everyone who doesn't happen to be an affluent white male, and that's after centuries of social progress. If we can all get used to it and go about our day without crying about it on the internet, you can too.
