If the Simpsons or Family Guy had portrayed a hypothetical Trump administration before it actually existed not even the writers could have portrayed them as anywhere near as cartoonishly dumb and incompetent as the real deal turned out to be. Heck they probably would’ve made them look a lot less incompetent by comparison. Half the crazy sh** that comes out of this administration would be equivalent to ideas rejected in a writers room for being too ‘out there’ or ‘ridiculous’ for even cartoon satire.

Satire is dead let's face it.

I mean there have been satires of incompetents and morons running a government. The Marx Brothers' had Duck Soup, Chaplin had The Great Dictator. Welles' Citizen Kane was about a businessman populist running for POTUS (only Welles had Kane lose because the satire had optimism at the time), A FACE IN THE CROWD (about a Rush Limbaugh-like Talk Radio), Network and so on.

All of that was based on the idea that someone like Trump would never make it as far as he did. And now that he's here and the reality is often even more unhinged than the SNL impressions.

But anyway, don't be discouraged by the Republicans who backed Trump, remember these guys are no geniuses, not infallible, and nothing they do is insurmountable. That applies to Mitch "Who Lost Arizona" McConnell too.

You posted that and not the panel from Preacher? I'm correcting this near-criminal oversight. There are RULES here on the internet, sir.

And I get that black voters are wary of sacrificing the small gains they've made to chase progressive pipe dreams, but as far as conservatives are concerned, anything that smacks of racial justice is a far greater threat than economic populism ever could be. After all, universal healthcare and student loan forgiveness will mostly benefit them as well, whereas any talks of black lives mattering is an existential threat to their conception of what America should be.

As for Georgia, you can be absolutely certain that the GOP will frame the runoffs as the last firewall against a socialist takeover of government, it doesn't matter how much Warnock and Ossoff try to position themselves as sensible moderates, as far as Republican voters are concerned it may as well be AOC and Ilhan Omar on the ticket, out to shove their radical socialist agenda down everyone's throat. So under these circumstances, why spend so much energy trying to explain to voters what you're not, and instead redirect that conversation to what you actually stand for? I get that a couple of southern Democrats like these two aren't necessarily going to be radical social justice firebrands, but I can't see how it could hurt to pick some kind of signature issue and just come out and say "if you elect us, then we will have the votes to put X on President Biden's desk within the first 100 days." I can't help but think that voters will respond more to something tangible like that than vague promises of hope and change.
I agree but it has to be something that will resonate there in Georgia. Healthcare is universally wanted. But, Medicare for all immediately clearly wont sell there. The good thing is the infrastructure and ground game and registered voters are clearly set up for Democrats. Right now you just need the same massive turnout. How do you get that when some of the people that voted Biden there did not vote for Ossoff and Warnock on the same ticket the first time. How do you get that to change now when the whole country will be watching and shouting about the importance of those seats?

GOP have been at it for days now the only way for "healing" Biden wants is keep the Senate GOP. We all know thats bs, but its their theme along with scaremongering that the far left will start ramming their programs through if Dems get the senate.

Trump's base will continue to rage, but it may be about to lose some of its menace. It just occurred to me that the FBI has been moving in on Militias of late. Some of their leaders must have realized just how heavily the feds will be able to come down on them once they aren't having to circumnavigate the US Attorney General. Seems that would provoke two reactions among them:

Some groups will decide they're going to need to resume guerilla mode as much as possible, and slink back into the forests. They'll continue fomenting domestic terrorism, but probably not by gunning up Trumpster Mobs.

Some will conclude that This Is The Moment, and it's all or nothing right now. These are the guys who could make the next 10 weeks highly dicey.

I think the militia will decide to become spree shooters or sell weapons to likely spree shooters and that's what they'll do in the Biden Presidency.

A good chunk of the school shooters (admittedly *not* all) were white supremacist kids acting out murder-suicide fantasies. Some might make a play at becoming the next Timothy McVeigh.

The really smart ones, they'll infiltrate the police, the FBI, the army...like they always do.

Satire is not dead. I can prove it with three words: Sascha. Baron. Cohen.

Does it make any more sense to blame POC and women for comic book stores closing?

Warner Brothers laying off employees over a Wonder Woman variant cover?

Hiring John Boyega for Star Wars or Brie Larson for Cap Marvel is an attack on the entire white race?

Blame BLACK MEN for Trump getting votes in this election? With the MAIN folks saying this Black WOMEN?

To the folks who spew this, it does.

Then why on earth did you feel comfortable blaming her without having read the whole of what she said?
