'Herd immunity' refers to using a vaccinated populace to hinder the spread of disease. What we're seeing now is more properly known as 'mass murder'.

No herd immunity is letting a virus run through the herd until those left alive are immune. It's how the Black Plague ended.

Those facts have nothing to do with making a herd immunity plan viable. More like who we protect most before a vaccine. And it points to a tiered lock down strategy, the opposite of herd immunity.

So far we've even seen jack in the way of actual immunity, the daily death toll rises every day. The throwing bodies into the meat grinder tactics will take ages, and with deaths uncountable. We've just pointlessly sacrificing the most vulnerable people, and it's happening because of our supposed leaders' apathy or the sick satisfaction of watching them die.

Immunity isn't inherited, the Black Death went away in the 1300s when people either died or became immune. The disease didn't goaway and other generations suffered. So yeah, herd immunity is a dumb idea. No wonder Trump approves of it.

However, they now have millions of doses sitting in a warehouse, because the Trump administration has yet to tell them where to ship it. And of course, when the administration announced that next week the shipment would be cut down to 2 million doses, Health Secretary Azar blamed Pfizer and said they were having production problems.
