Nothing builds success like success. Stacy Abrams and her organizations helped turn Georgia blue in the Presidential race, showing that the votes of blue-leaning voters there mattered. Black voters, particularly rural black voters, iimproved on their margins from November, and delivered a win to both Ossoff and Warnock. Stacy Abrams gets to do whatever the hell she wants, and we all know that what she wants is Kemp's job.

Redistrcting can't hit these state wide wins, and with the Senate in Democratic hands, a *lot* can get done that would never have been possible before.

The GOP is going to descend into further extremism and authoritarianism and work even harder to undermine the legitimacy of democratic government, because if they can't have it all, they'd rather no one have anything.

Only reason he won second time around was combining his candidacy with Warnock, a terrific candidate in any situation but especially against someone as cartoonishly evil as Kelly Loeffler (a Captain Planet villain basically).

In retrospect, Purdue refusing to debate Ossoff will go down in the annals of "great political own-goals" he allowed a guy with an unpromising profile a full 6-Year term when a debate might well have worked against him.

In the words of Stannis Baratheon from the novel A Storm of Swords, "Anyone I should think, even the cook" other than McSally, a candidate who lost both of her state's Congressional Senate seats in 2 years. That has to be up there in the annals of epic fails.

Still Mark Kelly the astronaut was a very good candidate, and it would have been hard for the GOP short of John McCain himself.

Ossoff will be remembered for the moment that made him. By destroying Perdue so badly in a debate the guy never would debate him again. It was a hell of a moment. It also brought Ossoff to grand stage. He's the future at 33....were on ground floor of someone who can move up years from now.

... Can't deny it, these people have time too. Who knew propping up the biggest sore loser in the history of America by means of a 'March for Trump' rally would even be this popular.

Jon Ossoff is the youngest person to become a senator since Joe Biden(who was 29).

    Someone pointed this on twitter.

Warnock was pastor to John Lewis, Ossoff was his intern.

So this is John Lewis' legacy in action.

Man, it seems that Trump really did bring a sword to a lightsaber fight in terms of the people he beefed with. Lewis and McCain done become force ghosts, seemslike.

No such thing as a 50 state strategy. Georgia had been trending purple and blue for awhile with massive population increases and Abrams gutted out some regressive voting restrictions to make up the difference. That could be what is necessary in Texas but the scale is much larger. Can’t think of too many other states like that

EPA finalizes rule to limit science behind public health safeguards

The Environmental Protection Agency has finalized a rule to limit what research it can use to craft public health protections, a move opponents argue is aimed at crippling the agency’s ability to more aggressively regulate the nation’s air and water.

The “Strengthening Transparency in Pivotal Science Underlying Significant Regulatory Actions and Influential Scientific Information” rule, which the administration began pursuing early in President Trump’s term, would require researchers to disclose the raw data involved in their public health studies before the agency could rely upon their conclusions. It will apply this new set of standards to “dose-response studies,” which evaluate how much a person’s exposure to a substance increases the risk of harm.

While EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler signed the final rule last week, he announced it Tuesday at a virtual session hosted by the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a think tank that advocates fewer federal regulations and disputes the idea that climate change poses a major threat to the United States.

Not everything can be the same. The important thing is to keep trying. Don't take a state as given.

Stacey Abrams didn't accept GA being written off as red for good. The Dems should keep trying TX and FL, and put the GOP on notice.

Remember the Dems are making gains in red states but the GOP aren't making comparable gains in blue states. They have set up camp in enemy territory so to speak, they have Normandy and Caen...Aachen and Berlin is within grasp.

In MAGA Land today they are doing their Stop the Steal deal in Washington. With Trump losing and now Georgia falling I bet things aren't going good there.

Yes there is. Howard Dean did it and it worked. It isn't about just winning a whole State, it's about putting up competitive candidates in every district. It's about getting out the vote in every State. Pick up a few extra seats, win a couple of close States. That is a winning strategy.

There needs to be a song parody with MAGALand sung to Springsteen's "Jungleland".

"The Democrats had a homecoming in Georgia late last night
