If you mean the radical reactionary right wing dedicated to white supremacy...then yeah it's too late to call time on its death. It's older than both these parties, and at different times was Federalist, Whig, Know-Nothings, Democrats, Dixiecrats and presently the Republican Party.

So the Republican party might collapse, change its name, rebrand itself, but underneath it you will find the same ideas and crap in some other form.

Which is not to say that it can't be fought or that it's invincible or anything. Nothing is.

But barring multiple defeats it might not happen.

Still a little reality has set in with the GOP. Not enough but it's a start.

You know how it's said, "if you see something wrong, say something about it"? It's the bare minimum. Yet many gop supporters can't even do that.
