Especially with a Minority Leader like Eugene McCarthy who is well known for being a bit stupid, and totally corrupt...it's become clear that Boebert and Greene have bent McCarthy to them rather than being held in line or disciplined.

The Fox caricature of AOC, that she somehow controls the House Floor and Dem. Agenda (which she doesn't but which she, and some here, all wish she did) is far likelier the case with Boebert and Greene and the Republican House Caucus.

It seems to me anyone in favor of the free market should support Redditors making stock-shorting more risky. The market will fix itself.

That's not the worst things Boebert and Taylor-Greene did.

Have mercy, the man has stained even the legacy of Presidential named Public Libraries. Siphoning funds from your own institution isn't even a bridge he's not ever crossed before.

The Republican mainstream has time and away been hijacked by its fringe. It happened with the Tea Party, it happened with Trump, and now the QAnon cult.

Like hell they're not. Over 100 Republicans were all in on the "stolen election" lie, Taylor-Greene and Boebert are just more openly insane of the rotten lot.

And Liz Cheney, of all people, is one of the more reasonable Republicans. But that's only a bare handful between both branches.

Listening and reading the Parkland Parents take on Marjorie Taylor Greene is pretty powerful.

Parkland Parents: Marjorie Taylor Greene Won’t Get Away With Lying About Our Son

“Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, the shooting where my son was murdered protecting his students was not a ‘false flag,’” Linda said in a statement to New York. “It was not staged. It really happened. Do not trivialize my son Scott’s sacrifice to save his students for your own political gain. As Joseph Welch said to Sen. Joseph McCarthy Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations in 1954: ‘Until this moment, Senator, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness. Have you no sense of decency?’ Congresswoman Greene, I ask you the same question. Are you that cruel? HAVE YOU NO SENSE OF DECENCY??”

“What do we need to do?” Linda asked me, her voice cracking. “Show her the video? Do I need to take her over to Scott’s mausoleum? Does she need to see how he was shot six times from three feet away?”

“It’s wrong,” she said. “It’s just wrong.”
Nancy Pelosi questioning how this lowlife could possibly be given a seat on an education committee is right on. It's a middle finger to these parents.

Let's correct your math, since it seems to be flawed...
You're undercounting 2. It's, at this time in the House, Taylor-Greene. Boebert. Biggs. Gosar. Brooks. Cawthorn. Gohmert. Harris. All of them are under a looking glass, and oh yeah, there were 140 people who voted against - certifying the election results. But for the hard-core conspiracy theory seditionists? You're talking probably 8.

Let's check your denominator. Overcounted. 435 is total House members. Convenient you're padding the numbers by including the Democratic half when it's convenient. 8 of 211. It's more like 4%, and by the certification votes of people who showed they'll vote for seditionists, it's a staggering 2/3 of your tainted party.

And... frankly f***ing one seditionist in your party seems embarrassing. Let alone the percentage.

I've been talking for years now about how several members of the GOP have been shoulder-to-shoulder with the militia group the Oath Keepers and some members of the group have run for office as Republicans...

FBI is looking at the fact that the Oath Keepers were recruiting people to storm the capitol as early as Nov. 9th, six days after Election Day
    .

Again, for YEARS the GOP have been chilling with domestic terrorists and are surprised somehow when they see a cluster of their members work with them attack the capitol looking to murder members of Congress.

The classic case of someone putting their hand in a bear trap against warnings and being surprised when it clamps shut on that hand.

In the UK probably the biggest political story is the EU attempts to persuade AstraZeneca to divert COVID vaccine supplies presently scheduled for UK supply to the EU instead.

It’s got enormous implications..of course..it’s ultimately a question of deaths in the UK or deaths in the EU. I’m profoundly biased, of course, but I think the EU case is morally suspect. (Infection and mortality rate in UK is higher than elsewhere in Europe...we need the vaccine more. And the vaccine was developed primarily by funding from UK government, and UK orders were placed 3 months before EU placed orders.)

It’s incredibly tough. No one is going to be remotely safe from this terrible disease until there’s been massive worldwide vaccination. I think there’s both a moral and economic case for the rich Western countries to give the big pharmaceutical companies a huge wedge of money to make all the manufacturing data public, so production can be made in massive quantities all over the world.

I think you are having flashback to the 1960s. You obviously mean Rep. Kevin McCarthy and not Sen. Eugene McCarthy of Minnesota .

Can we agree that it's dumb they're working on this now, and that they're going after Lincoln and Feinstein (a current Senator and former Mayor)?
Meh. Sacred cows and all that. Not saying I agree about Lincoln or Feinstein, just that nobody should be considered too perfect or beyond reproach. And definitely nobody is somehow just owed having a school named after them. Pretty sure Lincoln doesn't care, and Feinstein would get over it.

It's only dumb that they're working on it if doing so prevents them from doing something else that would yield greater benefits. But their not working on it isn't going to get the kids back in classrooms any quicker; not renaming schools isn't going to help with the virus.

Not the same level, absentee would require 2 different voter IDs, in person, which they also use to suppress the vote, requires 1. You still don't want to admit the GOP suppresses the vote.

I don't think there was an outage, certainly see no reference to it on CBR.
