Trump appointee sues Biden over alleged ouster from advisory board

A Trump-appointed member of an administrative advisory board is suing President Joe Biden, alleging the new administration is unlawfully trying to oust him from his post.

Roger Severino, who was appointed to the council of the Administrative Conference of the United States in the final days of Donald Trump’s presidency, asserted that the White House Presidential Personnel Office asked him to resign by Wednesday afternoon. The suit alleges that if he refused, he would be fired.

Severino’s lawsuit, filed in federal court in Washington, said he believed that three other members of the council were given a similar ultimatum. The ACUS researches and advises on various administrative processes to maximize efficiency.

So yesterday I posted that my aunt was reading the Qannon stuff and how bad it was after hearing Taylor Greene talk. I thought this would be a break through for her.

No such luck. After reading all day Tuesday and a lot today she is going on and on about how much sense they make and how much of what they are saying is being blocked by liberal media because they are the only ones telling the truth.

Calling people brainwashed is actually giving them more credit than they deserve, because there is absolutely no evidence that brainwashing is a real thing that actually works. Everything that we've seen so far suggests that people are receptive to conspiracy theories because this is what they genuinely believe, and that far from news and social media pushing false narratives onto unwitting audiences, it's more the case that there is a latent demand for this type of content that media outlets are simply stepping in to fill.

The Anne Sacoolas case goes from bad to worse.

First she left UK (after her a road accident in which a youngster died) because she had “diplomatic immunity”.

Now her lawyers are asking for a civil case in US courts to be dismissed because she worked for US intelligence (which if true would remove any diplomatic immunity).

I am not sure why working for US intelligence should make anyone immune from civil damages...I suspect there would be widespread outrage in US if a US youngster had been killed rather than a UK youngster if that defence was trotted out..

The Trump administrations original decision not to allow extradition was no surprise. But the Bidens administration recent decision to uphold that decision was profoundly disappointing.

Was disappointed that the Biden administration is taking the same line on the Harry Dunn/ Anne Sacoolas case as the preceding Trump administration.

(Harry died on UK road when hit by a car driven by Mrs Sacoolas on the wrong side of the road. She...for a very brief period pledged to co-operate with the police investigation, but next day went back to US...and refuses to come back to face charges citing “diplomatic immunity”. )

There is some genuine doubt whether Mrs Sacoolas qualifies for “diplomatic immunity”....and it really wasn’t created to give carte blanche to create mayhem on the roads.

Have to say it typifies in many eyes the moral behaviour of American embassy officials abroad...diplomatic immunity is oft used by American Embassy staff for stuff like avoiding parking fines, while embassy staff from other countries tend to pay them.

Apparently, she was a spy, which makes the case quite a bit more difficult for Biden.
