Beohner claimed that he'd "never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch than Cruz," and referred to him as "Lucifer in the flesh." So yeah, I imagine that Little Teddy wins the most despised race by a significant stretch. What's truly amazing is how he continues to endure despite continually reversing position and backstabbing with abandon. I can see how he gets reelected by pandering to the evangelical bigot vote, but I can't see how he has even a dram of influence as everyone has got to know that any deal with him will get them shafted the instant something Cruz likes better comes along. I can't forget how he tried monkey-wrenching the nomination at the 2016 GQP convention; it flatly astonishes me that Trump let him have a sycophant seat at his table.

As for the Dems reversing on calling witnesses. I get that it was futile, but I hope they at least got something out of it. Say, agreements with a bunch of non-Q Rs to abstain from attempts to gum up Biden's legislative works through 2022. We ought to know the story on that pretty soon.

It really shouldnt be a surprise though. Trump will forgive and put up with anyone who kisses his ass and follows what he wants to the letter which Ted does.

Trump doesn't need Twitter to get his message out.

It's not about getting his message out. It's about sending a constant never-ending barrage of messages, and a permanent floating platform where Trump can respond and strike back at his enemies or any latest news 24/7.

Remember when Fauci and Birx went on news and admitted how working for Trump sucked (not in so many words), apparently Trump watched that with hatred but he couldn't do anything but stew and let the news slip out third hand.

Imagine how much the Biden administration and press briefings would be if Trump constantly tweeted and commented on everything Biden did, making outrageous claims countering the fact that his administration plainly and visibly botched the vaccine rollout.

What defined Trump was social media and his twitter presence and persona. If Trump is Sauron, the twitter handle is his one-ring. Without it, Sauron/Trump isn't defeated but he is severely weakened and not at full strength. Right now Jack Isil-Dorsey has cut the "one ring" and obviously the Ringwraiths are circling to find a way to return it to Mordor-a-Lago.

Keep Trump off social media and keep that going as long as possible. Obviously Trump will do stuff like get on Parler or find some hack to make his own social media app and network, let him do that and make his move...dude's not the best businessman in the world, let's see how far he goes building and marketing stuff on his own without using established networks and channels to build his brand, to which he otherwise owes his success to.

IMO, if Graham and the other Republicans in office dropped Trump and got on with their lives, in no time the so called base will give up and drift away. They are the ones that enabled the cult, and they are the ones keeping it alive, even though they know what Trump did.

He doesn't have to scramble. When he was doing his birther stuff he had no problem getting folks to put a camera in front of him. He's being quiet now, but I'm sure it's because he's concerned about what kind of lawsuits may or may not levied against him now that he's no longer president. Not cuz the media doesn't want to hear what he has to say.

I mean this is very true. Do people not think he has fox News on Speed dial? that Ingram or Hannity would not fall over backwards to give him as much time as he wanted on their shows? Hell even Cnn would in no way turn down a chance to have him on their network for an interview. Like when he was still in the White House and everyone said he could not speak out because he was banned from Twitter even though the White House has a press room.

If Trump really wanted to be on the air he would have no trouble making that happen.

Huey Long. George Wallace was on his way to it when gunned down. I can remember people worshiping Nixon years after he was disgraced.

As for why. People frantically want to believe themselves to be in the right. Especially when their beliefs are hypocritical to their own ethos, they need to reassurance, and when somebody comes along and says, "you're right," they'll accept whatever altered reality the somebody offers up.
