wow. I mean, there IS some historical precedent for the violence against Muslims in India based on the centuries old ethnic and religious conflicts that have been in that region... obviously Great Britain didn't really help eliminate those existing conflicts... but, geez. it's not like these people weren't fighting each other BEFORE the British took over. you can't blame EVERYTHING on white people.

and that doesn't even square up with the Xianjiang province conflict since... y'know, Islam has played a significant (if secondary) role in that conflict as well.

I don't know if anyone already mentioned this but....holy ****!!

Pence says media focus on Jan. 6 insurrection is to ‘demean’ Trump supporters

Former vice president Mike Pence said media reporting on the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection is meant to “demean” supporters of former president Donald Trump, some of whom stormed the Capitol that day shouting, “Hang Mike Pence!”

In an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News on Monday night, Pence sought to explain media coverage of the Jan. 6 riot in which he was hurriedly evacuated from the Senate chamber and taken to a secure location amid threats to his life.

“I know the media wants to distract from the Biden administration’s failed agenda by focusing on one day in January,” Pence told Hannity. “They want to use that one day to try and demean the character and intentions of 74 million Americans who believed we could be strong again and prosperous again and supported our administration in 2016 and 2020.”
Once again....holy ****!! Is this a case of Stockholm Syndrome regarding Pence's slavish devotion to Trump and the GQP, or has he just plain lost his damn mind?

When they talked about it on cable news, the comment was that Pence si looking to run for president in 2024, however he is doing it all wrong. Comments like this just make him sound like a lackey to Trump. It makes him sound weak.

Who wants the lackey when they can have the boss? Even Discount Rev. Stryker should be smart enough to figure that out.

Rather than keeping Trump's supporters, the GOP should be trying to reach out to the moderates and independents as Dubya Bush, John McCain and Mitt Romney did.

Can Trump win reelection in 2024 with a small fanbase? Maybe not.

    Y'know what won't win moderates?

Alienating them with weirder and weirder conspiracy theories and having your elected party members do nothing except transparently make sure that jack s*** is done to sow chaos and try and blame it on the other side. The fact that they're tethered to the fate of a wanton criminal ignoramus won't help, either.

Romney announced that he has given that up, and will be voting on lockstep to try and force Democrats between infrastructure and a government default.

When it comes to the Qpublican Party, the inmates are running the asylum, and the base has demonstrated they want another mouth foaming, bay at the moon lunatic like Trump if they can't get the real McCoy. They loved how Trump gave them free rein to be openly racist, xenophobic, homophobic scumbags, and that made them feel REAL good! No way in hell will those mouth breathers go back under their rocks and return to being marginalized like they had been before The Former Guy won the presidency, and moderates won't rev their engines. The top dogs in the GQP know that too, which is why they continue slurping Trump.

Judging by social media posts, it backfired on Pence. trump supporters despise him.

So, what we have here are a couple of Qpublicans trying to out-grandstand one another. So, does the governor show his lieutenant the door after what she had done?

No, but the LT Gov is running for the governorship apparently so they're doing all this just to try to burnish their conservative bonafides ... which is insane.

Another school shooting. This one looks like it was a personal beef between the shooter and another student.

Mitt Romney lost the election because many of the conservatives distrusted Mormons for being too unchristian. Ironically, Mormons are some of the most conservative Americans and most loyal Republicans in the country. Mormons turned Utah into one of the reddest states in the union.

The question of whether Mormonism is Christian is very relevant to American society at present as Mitt Romney, a Saint, became the Republican nominee for President and significantly challenged Barack Obama’s presidency. The fact that twenty-two percent of recently polled Americans would oppose voting for a Mormon for President causes one to wonder why there is such opposition to Mormonism in its country of origin
