Really? Me being in both places means I cant comment to what happens in there? I cant comment on the functions of places I have spent a few years. vs the people who have never been to these places yet talk like experts as to what happens in these places? Get out of here with that crap!

So you are trying to tell us that in 'your experience' none of those places have been about getting you to comply with constructed social norms using some form of coercion?

Prisons dont give a **** about that as they are not about rehabilitation. You go there as punishment, and to be honest guards dont give a **** about you as long as you dont cause problems, or I will say cause them problems. There are little to know programs to help inmates effect change in their lives. They want an inmate to comply with the norms of the prison but after a person leaves they could give a **** how they act in society because it is no longer their problem. If they cared about an inmate acting in society norms when they are out they would do more in the way of rehabilitation and programs to give the inmate a chance when they leave rather then cutting mental health, drug, and anger counseling programs.

Some inmates get out and reoffend and are right back and it is a never ending cycle. A few do change and dont go back. I have been out 7 years and have not been back. I know a couple other people like that but that is because of the work we put in to change our lives that we did on our own. We did this in spite of the system not because of it.

Do schools teach a person to live in social norms? That is what school is about. They teach skills needed for life such as math, writing, reading, etc etc... they teach kids how to interact with other people and live in a society. That is the point of a school.

But there are too many GOP **** tards that claim schools have turned into these socialists brain washing factories because they have the nerve to teach slavery was bad and racism has and does happen in this world. School officials are worse then Hitler because they want kids to wear masks. There were no real issues with what was being taught in shcools until the right wing cult decided "Hey they are telling our kids non white people have it tough in this country and they are just as good as us white people." And the whole "Holy **** they want my kid to wear a mask in a pandemic to keep others safe! Not on my watch Bubba!" And we cant forget the "You talked about climate change and not Jesus? What the Hell am I paying taxes for?!!"

Could it have anything to do with learn how to act in prison is the way you are supposed to act in society? You learn to change your behavior inside so that you take that with you outside and it seems to have worked for you. I never said these institutions have to care if you learn the lessons they impart because they have their punishments ready out in the world. Same with school, you don't want to take up what is put down for you to absorb then you will be punished for it. Public education is like that though you might have more people that care than you do on the ward or block.

Norms like not punching someone in the face to take their school lunch or sneakers not the elaborate and external values to the communities that do pay for having a say so in curricula. Of course with the distortions and caricatures you list reveal your own prejudices which only tells me that the indoctrination is indeed working by spouting such wet flatulence.

You're going to have to give me more context here. What is conservative media telling you about school boards and 'terrorist parents' villainizing education?

Prisons dont impart lessons is what I am saying. The way a person learns to act in prison is not at all how a person should act in society. In society if you beat the hell out of a guy for no reason you get arrested. In prison you get cheered. In society you steal you go to jail. In prison you like what you cell mate has? Take it! If they get made beat their ass. In soceity you see a crime you give a statement to the police. You do that **** in prison you beeter be out of the cell block by night fall or it will go really bad for you. The lesson is "If you are going to do shady **** in here dont make it a problem for the CO who has to get off their ass and stop it." Get into a fight? Do it out of sight. You are smoking or doing drugs? Dont let us see it. You can do what ever you want in prison as long as a CO decides they dont want to deal with it. Even fights they dont give a **** half the time. I have seen so many people being attacked and the CO does not do **** about it (And cheer them on if the victim is a sex Offender) Now if there is blood some where or someone is hurt bad yea they get involved and they are pissed about it. not because a rule is broken but because they have to work. So as far as coercion? They dont give a **** unless it means they have to work.

“Guess how Glenn Youngkin is finishing his campaign?” McAuliffe told a modest crowd outside a Fairfax brewery Monday night at his final rally. “He is doing an event with Donald Trump here in Virginia.”

That was a lie. Trump wasn’t in Virginia and he never campaigned with Youngkin, though he did make the case for the GOP candidate — “fantastic guy!” — during a brief “tele-rally.”

And THAT is not a life lesson on how to relate to the Authorities on the outside? Prisons aren't about making people into nice people, or drug free people or upstanding people but people who don't do the things that are going to cause the Authorities to come to your house or find you and make you live with people 24/7 that are going to make you regret that. No regrets? then we will see you back here again.

Shutting Down Historical Debate, China Makes It a Crime to Mock Heroes

The young woman in Beijing began her post complaining about mobs gathering online, where recluses vent misogynistic insecurities from the safety of desk chairs. As provocative as it was, it might have passed unnoticed except that she added another beat.

She mocked the toxic masculinity of users imagining themselves as Dong Cunrui, a textbook war hero who, according to Chinese Communist Party lore, died valiantly during the civil war that brought the party to power in 1949.

For that passing reference, the woman, 27 and identified in court only by her last name, Xu, was sentenced last month to seven months in prison.

Her crime: violating a newly amended criminal code that punishes the slander of China’s martyrs and heroes. Since it went into effect in March, the statute has been enforced with a revolutionary zeal, part of an intensified campaign under China’s leader, Xi Jinping, to sanctify the Communist Party’s version of history — and his vision for the country’s future.

And you know what. A lot of people in prison do not care if they go back to prison. Prisons are in no way a deterrent for most of the people in there. Hell they expect to come back. They make plans for it! **** you beat up or kill a cop you are a fucking hero in prison! The people in prison are not scared of police or going back to prison.

But hey you know all about inmates in prison from watching Law and Order reruns and Oz vs the the guy who lived with them and in the system for many years!

Careful Blob, your experience makes you an expert, and there is nothing treated with more derision by the right than an expert.
