Yeah, her switching parties would change the whole landscape of the Senate.

I mean in official terms I suppose as it would alter the landscape make Mitch officially the top dog in the senate again...but in reality, would that really mean much? Democrats can't get anything done as things are so it's not like that would change.

Judges, and that is big. And though the big things aren't getting done, the small ones are. With Mitch in, nothing will come up for a vote but Biden veto bait.

Not much. They did get the Infrastructure Bill passed, even though Democrats had to make major concessions. Not sure if McConnell would allow ANYTHING to the floor that has a chance at helping Biden's poll numbers. He definitely would not have confirmed any of Biden's judges, either. Having Democrats in control of Senate hearings and what legislation comes to the floor also allows Americans to see, in full view, what Republicans want to keep hidden and what they vote against (not that it matters much to the average American idiot).

I don't think more than a handful of nuts in my grandparents' generation would have disagreed with what's written in the encyclopedia. Nowadays, you don't look up things in a book, you google them. And suddenly, a grainy jpeg on Facebook has more truthiness for many people than an article in a scientific publication.

Yes, what happened January 6th was nothing short of open rebellion against the lawful and legitimate Government. All involved, right up to the Orange Ringleader, need to be brought to justice.

Anyone else seeing shortages at grocery stores? I haven't seen it here in Southern Nevada. Is it localized to certain areas only?

Ive seen a bit here in the cincy Area. but it has not been bad. What I have noticed is a lot of price hikes and how much the cost has gone up. I am feeling it and I just shop for myself and my dad. But a family of four or five? man it has to be rough.

Saw something I am happy about. Ohio has purchased Body cams for all officer in prisons as well as State parole offices and officers.

As someone who has spent a good time in the system I am very happy about this as I have seen abuse of other inmates and been the victim of abuse by officers in prison.

I want to read more on this and find out more about the guidelines on when the body cams have to be turned on and such. But this is a big thing. I know a few years ago when I did the volunteer work with a prison reform group in Cincy before I had to stop this is one thing we pushed for.

Plenty of shortages in SoCal. Weirdly, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to what's missing. But yeah, looks a bit like the old Soviet Union grocery stores, with nothing but bare shelves. It's nowhere near that bad yet, just random aisles bare, with other random items gone from the stores with just blank space, but it might get worse. Hopefully not though. But prices for basically everything are way, way up.

That was at the grocery store. But I also went to IKEA recently, and tried to buy several things. I say tried, because while the displays were there, they basically had nothing in stock. And all my energy bills are way, way up. I'm getting more than a bit tired of this, I must say.
