As Mets quibbles about fabricated 'legitimate concerns' about gay teachers, his conservative fellow travelers are busy doing things like this:

An ugly protest today. A mob of self described “Christian Fascists” tried to force their way into a gay establishment in the gayborhood of Dallas holding a family event while chanting “Groomers”

We just had a situation where the folks tasked with being trained and prepared for such an instance seemingly did not have it in them when the day finally came.

The idea that folks who are not law enforcement will react any differently?

    It just does not compute.

24 hours of gun training to carry a gun in the class room. They have to get re fresh courses each year but those are only set at 8 hours a year.

In 2018, a Central Valley woman became the first person in decades to be jailed in California for the death of her stillborn baby.

In 2019, another woman who struggled with addiction delivered a stillborn baby who tested positive for methamphetamine.

It's all very stupid. Gun violence told the GOP that we didn't care how many of our fellow Americans are killed so long as its Other Americans, which they found even to be even more true with Covid. A million dead, and they're even now brow-beating the special olympics for trying to make sure it's vulnerable population of athletes is vaccinated.

Trump Endorses Kevin McCarthy, Pisses Off His Own Supporters

Trump's followers expressed disappointment in the comment section. “What the heck,” one user whose bio states they will vote for Trump a “third time,” wrote. “The guy [McCarthy] talks behind your back..yuck,” another pro-Trump user wrote. In supporting McCarthy, Trump has crossed some of his loudest supporters. Trumpworld allies, including Fox News contributor Leo Terrell and Roger Stone, have been two of the many voices leading attacks on McCarthy over being a “RINO” (Republican In Name Only). “California RINO Kevin McCarthy is a disgrace to the Republican Party, and he needs to resign,” Stone wrote at the end of April. Around the same time, hardcore MAGA Rep. Matt Gaetz responded in kind to a tweet that supported the idea of a “takeover” of House “leadership from RINO Kevin McCarthy.”

Leo Terrell and other supporters must have been surprised or disappointed. Maybe they aren't aware that loyalty is as constant as the wind?

So what is next? Will Trump endorse Brian Kemp and Brad Raffensperger, since both of them won the primary?

Right. Leave an expert's job to an amateur.

But adequate training might not be enough. What the teachers also need is courage. Polices of Uvalde and Parkland or Broward County had proper training but lack courage.

While I think that there is a really legitimate case for that it is past time for more/stricter gun laws in the States?

The exact type of gun becomes less and less of an issue if you are going to give someone over a half hour to flame out when they intend on taking folks with them when they go.

The question is if the body armor wearing cops would have given somebody that chance if they had not been shitting their pants about the kind of weapon of mass destruction he was carrying.
