I wonder if his need for attention and the spotlight will get him to do so on camera, or if he'll be able to do it behind closed doors or in written form (which I'm sure his lawyers would push, unless he's still employing the gaggle of "Stop the Steal" crazies). I'm still not holding out hope, but it'd be nice.

Bipartisan Senate group eyes deal 'this week' on bill to prevent future coups

WASHINGTON — As the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 plot prepares to kick off its first public hearing, a bipartisan group of senators huddled Wednesday in the Capitol to negotiate new laws to prevent future candidates from stealing elections.

Two sources familiar with the group’s work said it is close to a deal, having settled on a series of new provisions and working through options on one major unresolved issue.
The areas of consensus, Collins said, include amending the Electoral Count Act to restrain the vice president’s role, raising the congressional threshold for objecting to electoral votes, overhauling the transition process and protecting election officials from threats.

The group is trying to close loopholes in the electoral system in a flurry of activity among members and staffers in recent weeks to reach consensus on a cause that lawmakers in both parties see as urgent. It was the first face-to-face meeting of members since April. The negotiations were sparked in part by President Donald Trump’s unsuccessful effort to exploit gaps in the law to stay in power even though he lost the 2020 election.
Funny that the necessity of this came from GOP efforts to toss out millions of minority votes and the Big Lie. But they can tout that they "did something" about securing elections passes.

Gas is as high as $5.65 here. Fox keeps telling me it's due to Biden's policies but they never mentioned which polices...

His policy of not resigning in favor of a Republican would be my guess.

In my area wer are bouncing between 5.09 and 5.19 depending on where you go. All I here is this is Bidens fault and all of that crap. I asked my aunt if it is Bidens fault why is gas so high every where else in the world. It turned into a rant about the pipeline and production in the USA dropping that some how swung to immigrants and Hunters Emails.

Its funny Because the GOP have a hard time figuring out just whose Pocket Biden is in. One minute he is a figure head for AOC and Sanders, then he is in Ukraine's Pocket because of the emails while at the same time being a Russian asset and having daily calls with his masters in China plotting more virus like Covid. Also finding time to be in the pockets of big Business and Big Oil and Big Pharma.

Which is why I don't think its a fight that concerns black people. BUT the way the SFPD helped undermine the DA will now have other police departments keeping this playbook in their back pockets now that they know that it works. Allegedly Minneapolis Police did it following the death of George Floyd, same with Baltimore PD after Freddie Gray.

Maybe that’s because they have no clue, but are throwing shit against the wall to see what will stick, and when nothing does, they default to the golden oldie that’s Hunter’s laptop.

Look, everyone, including Qpublicans and the trolls on Faux News know gas prices ALWAYS go up around this time EVERY year when refineries switch from winter to summer blend gasoline, but because of certain….unintended circumstances, namely Putin’s invasion of Ukraine threw everything out of whack, resulting in prices higher than is considered normal when spring rolls around. However, the hypocrites in the GQP took advantage of the opportunity to slam Biden since anything that hurts him helps them, regardless of the damage caused to the American people.

Not that logic works with Qpulicans, but it's kind of easy to go see "hey, gas prices are wild right now in pretty much EVERY country", almost like there is kind of big things going on causing it right now!

DeVos says she talked 25th Amendment, resigned after Trump crossed ‘line in the sand’ on Jan. 6

Former Education Secretary Betsy DeVos says that the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 was the final straw for her in standing by former President Trump, confirming that she was open to using the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.

DeVos, who writes in a new book about turning in her resignation letter to Trump the day after the Capitol insurrection, blames the former president’s refusal to accept the results of the 2020 presidential election for blocking her efforts to pass her last piece of school choice agenda legislation through Congress.

She was the second Trump Cabinet member to step down on Jan. 7, following Education Secretary Elaine Chao.
Of course this heffa joins the tell all book, image rehabilitation line of ex Trump staffers. Trumps fault her goals as a champion of children's education didn't happen.

Michigan GOP gubernatorial candidate Kelley arrested on Jan. 6 riot-related charges

FBI agents arrested Republican gubernatorial candidate Ryan Kelley on misdemeanor charges related to the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The arrest and search unfolding at Kelley's home in Allendale adds more uncertainty to a chaotic race for governor that has seen several Republican candidates blocked from the ballot for submitting fraudulent nominating petition signatures.
Michigan GOP whew. When they aren't presenting fraudulent signatures to get on the ballot in the first place...they are getting arrested for coup participation.

The Supreme Court just ruled that Border Patrol can enter any home without a warrant and assault you, within 100 miles of the border. And no, you have zero federal protections if they do so. SCOTUS Ruling

Supreme Court shields Border Patrol agent from excessive-force claim

A divided Supreme Court on Wednesday sided with a Border Patrol agent accused of using excessive force during a confrontation, an outcome that will further limit lawsuits against law enforcement officials accused of constitutional violations.

In a 6-3 decision, the court’s conservative majority reinforced protections for government officials who are generally immune from civil lawsuits when it is determined they have acted in good faith while carrying out their duties.

Justice Clarence Thomas, writing for the majority, said that in rare instances such claims had been allowed to proceed without explicit authorization from Congress and that the court should not second-guess lawmakers responsible for deciding when individuals can seek damages for constitutional violations.
In dissent, the court’s three liberal justices said they would have allowed the Washington state man’s lawsuit to proceed against the federal agent. Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote that the court had “absolutely immunized from liability” thousands of Border Patrol agents “no matter how egregious the misconduct or resultant injury.”

Such cases “play a critical role in deterring unconstitutional conduct by federal law enforcement officers,” wrote Sotomayor, who was joined by Justices Stephen G. Breyer and Elena Kagan.

Nice of that harridan to release those juicy tidbits AFTER she penned a tell-all. Not that resigning her post as Education Secretary mattered all that much since he was going to be booted after Joe Biden took the oath of office. I hope DeVos’ book tanks.

it was the same with all those shits that resigned. They stood by for years and were part of and enabled Trump and his cult and their sickness. Then they quit 2 weeks before they were going to be fired any way and they wanted their asses kissed and want to be upheld as some grand hero of moral character.

Yup, same thing for all the Republicans that voted to impeach trump or come out against the insurrection, it's always followed by an announcement that they aren't running again. Want to play the hero after the fact on the way out the door.
