It doesnt matter if it didnt do what people were scared of it said it would do.

The GOP is very open about their hate of Gay and Trans citizens. They open call them sex offenders and groomers. They openly talk about how they are ruining the country. They even have members that openly talk of killing them.

So no they do not get the benefit of the doubt from me in the least because they have some gay Republicans who will throw away the rights of their own. And it is amazing that they get the benefit of the doubt from anyone who sees what tthey are doing with the laws they are passing.

Cant say gay in school. Does anyone really think that party is not looking to erase every right gays have?

The GOP platform is VERY clear on LGBT rights and their hatred. Texas GOP wouldn't even let the Log cabin idiots have a booth at their convention. Hundreds of anti LGBT laws the past few years. It is pure blind stupidity to trust the GOP aren't coming after LGBT. Thomas may have been the only one to say it. But you wait to do something until they pass the law or unmake your rights its already too late.

They spent decades setting the table to roll back Roe. Who thinks they won't do the same for LGBT rights? They literally vote on a hateful national platform targeting LGBT people year after year. What benefit of the doubt or "wait and see" have they earned?

They've already admitted to targeting it.
Thinking they won't try to go after it the first chance they get is just living in fantasy land.

Hell they've been on a constant attack against gay and trans people for AGES. The whole 'groomer' BS is a GOP-led and maintained anti-LGBTQ+ thing.

Who wants to take odds on the first conservative mouthpiece to use this as proof that gay men are predators? My guess would be Pucker Carlson will be the first to do it.

    Not all the time.

It's not always something negative happened growing up.

Sometimes it's observation and other things.

Senior year in college-we got a bunch of new Freshman on campus. Many of them (white kids) were SCARED of the black students.
And guess what NONE of them had negative encounters with black folks.
Many came from towns in Texas where there was NO black folks.
Some had ZERO ISSUE saying the N word just openly as they can.

So where do you think they got that fear from? Outside stimuli like media.

How many movies of white kids out of control feature white kids EMBRACING black culture? Like Brad Renfro in the movie Bully.
Remember WHO was the number one consumer of rap music? WHITE KIDS.

Lets look at comics-how many comics have showcased black folks as stereotypes? Batman Seduction of the Gun, Black Lightning's backups in the 80s, The first 13 issues of Steel, Impact Comics-the ONLY black male in those books were from the hood with one from an abusive home and the other parent murked by thugs.

Then these same white kids grow up with some of the issues we see today.

So yeah I want to see the sources of some of this mess. Not all these folks are racist or been abused.

It’s only a matter of time before the GQP gets around to rolling back Obergefell, and everyone knows it, including Log Cabin Qpublicans who only support the party for tax breaks.

And, as I said, all the prior laws and amendments outlawing same sex marriage will reinstate without any action. Good luck reversing it against Republican opposition and voter apathy.

Didn't Johnson JUST survive a vote of No Confidence? Can they hold another vote again so soon?

Old comics were much better in representation of Black people: Falcon, Black Panther, Luke Cage, Misty Knight…

Here's a video of representative (and WBE Alum) Debbie Lasko explaining how she would shoot her own grandchildren to protect her own grandchildren because guns because America.

    https://twitter.com/RyanShead/status...85572331892736

She obviously misspoke but 'would kill/consign own children to death because America' does seem to be a Republican value these days.

No, because of a technicality. But if more ministers resign, pressure on him to do the honorable thing... sorry, cannot type that about BoJo without laughing.

You should try the recent Milestone revival at DC. Very good books.

The future the Republican party envisions for the country: even when they lose, they win.

Now that Wisconsin has a Democratic governor, Tony Evers, he had his own ideas about who should serve on state policymaking boards, and his plans didn’t include Prehn. The trouble is, when Prehn’s term ended last year, he said he didn’t want to leave — or more specifically, he’d only leave if his successor was confirmed.

Ordinarily, that wouldn’t be problematic, except Wisconsin’s state Senate has a gerrymandered Republican majority, which has decided it won’t even consider the Democratic governor’s nominees, leaving the defeated former governor’s team in place.

In other words, voters elected Evers, but Evers is stuck with some of his Republican predecessor’s appointees — who are pursuing policies the elected governor opposes — thanks to the intransigence of a gerrymandered legislative majority.

Wisconsin is the model they intend for the entire country. A legislature that represents solely a minority of voters with a partisan supreme court that reinforces their power grabs, stripping the executive of its ability to do anything when it's in opposite hands, empowering it when it is in their own. This kind of rule is incredibly unhealthy and iits indefensible. If we do not vote in massive numeers in 2022, they will be that much closer to enacting their agenda nation-wide. Defending this naked grab at partisan, unrepresentative minority rule, is what all the 'It's a REpublic NoT a DemoCraCY' bullshit is about.\

A few more resignations this morning over at Boris' party, and what's worse is that, this being Wednesday, this is usually when Prime Minister's Questions airs.
