Did anyone see this story? A cop in New York that arrested an on duty EMT Worker because she hit his car door when unloading a patient?

Probably, though one is suspect, and the other not so much

If they are connected to Trump.....

Ivana Trump, the first wife of Donald Trump and the mother of his three eldest children, died at the age of 73 on Thursday due to injuries she sustained after apparently falling down a spiral staircase inside her Upper East Side townhouse. Her death was accidental, New York City’s chief medical examiner said Friday, the result of “blunt impact injuries” to her torso.
Anytime someone accidentally falls down a spiral staircase, it's gonna raise questions.

I'm not doing the whole conspiracy thing, but I can see how this is gonna feed into that. Make of it what you will.

True, but statistically how many fall down a spiral staircase?

Okay, okay. It was an accident. Just a very strange accident.

How many OWN a spiral staircase? Ivana was a very rich woman who liked to live an extravagant lifestyle. No surprise that she had a spiral staircase in her home.

Even if it was an accident, there is likely to be an investigation.

Why is it a "weird" mix? Why does everyone have to have only left-leaning beliefs or only right-leaning beliefs? I've never liked this whole either/or game. Granted, the current Republican Party is playing an all or nothing, you're either with us or against us game, but the rest of us don't have to play into it.

Trump finds the one word he’ll no longer say to his own followers

Donald Trump is accustomed to a degree of deference from his followers that borders on creepy. Many of the former president’s diehard devotees continue to believe, even now, that the Republican is effectively infallible.

There is, however, one notable exception.

Nearly a year ago, Trump held an event in Alabama — one of the nation’s reddest red states, where the Republican ticket won by 25 points in 2020 — where he encouraged attendees to get Covid vaccines. The booing was audible and immediate. Four months later, at an event in Texas, he acknowledged having received a booster shot, at which point he was again booed by his supporters.

The former president has clearly gotten the message. The Daily Beast highlighted Trump’s rhetoric on Saturday night, during a rally in Anchorage, Alaska, where the Republican was reluctant to use the word “vaccine.”
So, not even Trump can control the monster he created. Can’t say I’m surprised.

There's a spiral staircase in a gazebo in a park in southern Indy, but it's always closed off due to it being a safety hazard. I've never understood the value of such staircases; they're supposedly designed to save on space, but they feel impractical and dangerous.

The obvious question here seems to be...

"Why take that degree of risk for what is seemingly very little potential reward?..."

It's always "What Does Someone Stand To Gain?..."

I just don't see what anyone would in this particular case.

180K donated to doctor who preformed 10-year-old girl's abortion to help with legal costs, security

INDIANAPOLIS – Doctors across the country helped raised about $180,000 for an Indiana University obstetrician-gynecologist pay for security and legal expenses after she became a focal point in the abortion debate over providing the procedure to a 10-year-old rape victim.

The saga unfolded earlier this month after Dr. Caitlin Bernard told the Indianapolis Star, which is part of the USA TODAY Network, that she treated the 10-year-old girl from Ohio. After Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court, Ohio's trigger law went into effect, banning abortions after six weeks.

The girl's story went viral, appearing in news outlets across the country and becoming a flash point in the abortion debate. It became a talking point for abortion-rights supporters, including President Joe Biden. Some opponents and news outlets criticized the story as unproven. But criminal charges and court testimony earlier this week confirmed the disturbing story.

On Friday, supporters launched fundraisers to help Bernard with security fees and legal costs she has assumed while facing public scrutiny.

A team of OB-GYN providers from across the country launched a GoFundMe that had raised nearly $180,000 from about 2,400 donors as of Saturday evening.

"We are Ob/Gyn providers & abortion providers from across the country who want to thank our colleague, Dr. Caitlin Bernard, for doing a courageous thing and helping provide compassionate healthcare to a child in her time of need," the GoFundMe page says. "Many of us have experienced this in our line of work, and the ability to rise to the call despite tragedy like this is truly commendable."
That this was even necessary was a disgrace. Making this doctor a national target for legally doing her job. Threatening her and her reputation, questioning her professionalism and putting her in danger.

The Indiana doctor who carried out an abortion for a 10-year-old Ohio rape victim has previously faced threats that extremists would kidnap her daughter - and was publicly named by an anti-abortion group linked to Amy Coney Barrett before she became a Supreme Court justice.

Dr Caitlin Bernard testified last year that she stopped performing first-trimester abortions at a clinic in South Bend, Indiana, after the FBI alerted Planned Parenthood of the threat to her family.

Dr Bernard was one of six doctors named on the website of an extreme anti-abortion group Right to Life Michiana in a section entitled “Local Abortion Threat”, according to The Guardian.

I've said this before, but our failure to reckon properly with 'pro-life' terrorism, and right-wing terrorism more broadly, has been a huge problem.

Anyone else wish Biden was still masking up on all those international travels?
