"reply was pretty plainly bad faith" - it wasn't, but whatever you say has to be correct, right?

You even made a joke about an imaginary bingo, but yet I'm the one in bad faith, hmm hmm.

No, I can be as wrong as anyone else. In fact, I can be as wrong as a guy who's been repeating right-wing propaganda all morning. It's been known to happen.

Still, a pretty obviously trollish response, all the same.

Latinos account for 52% of all US population growth between 2010 and 2020. In electoral terms (and not just in that, of course, but in all facets of life and society) they are going to be "the" group in upcoming decades. Democrats can't afford to lose those votes.

And you call me a "troll" again - who engages in bad faith, after all? You've insulted me repeatedly, as if that scores any brownie points.

Let's qualify people into silos, because there's only left and right, white and black, up and down, us vs. them, friendly vs. enemy! Of course...

I'm sorry you don't like the term. I didn't invent it (before I'm accused of that or something)

And in the long run he is hurting the Democrats even more because they do have an issue with Latino voters and this will just anger them even more and rightly so. Now the Democrat party is has to speak out against him. And if they diont then they are painted rightfuly so as being oaky with this type of thing. Or if they dont speak our fast enough or give a half assed statement they will be accused of paying lip service. I made the big thing with Mets. The GOP needs to speak out against their racist base and elected officials for psoing and supporting hate groups and hate. if the Dems cant do that also they are talking out of their ass in a big way and also need to be called out on it.

And you are right had a GOP done this we would be losing our minds here.
I appreciate your responses. People don't have to agree on everything to have an important discussion.

You're right and it's a common complaint that we're not being listened to. Or that voters got fooled by Republican ads on the radio because they're too dumb to understand better. It's at the point where with the quality of the current outreach, just don't even bother.

Thing is though while Trumps racist and bigoted comments got into the news, they were then pushed out by the next one, and the next one, etc. every day and eventually became normalized. It filtered down and goes all through the Republican party and happens on a daily basis, you'll get an article here and there but it never gets condemned by the Republican party and gets washed away fast. It's not reprehensible comments for Republicans, it's a selling point.

True. But unfortunately some folks with radical ideas/ agendas don't see that, or don't want to see that. Some good examples on this thread.

As I keep saying, there is a specific definition to malicious compliance. It is distinct from maliciousness. I'm pretty sure DeSantis and McConnell are capable of malicious compliance, but I'm unaware of a situation where they seem to follow the text of a law in a way that is meant to provoke a backlash against it. They've got different resources available.

I said the response was trollish and you already acknowledged that it was, so.

The problem is that you (and not just you but all the other "woke" folks here as well; if you don't like that term - I didn't invent it - we can say "politically correct" or whatever works) get easily offended by different opinions and just decide to dismiss, make fun of and insult. That's not democracy.

I didn't acknowledge it was 'trollish' btw, I said I was messing with you because you get easily offended by different opinions and by anything that doesn't fit the mold.

It's like when I made a comment about the "they" pronouns, you were ready to pounce... because if someone doesn't agree with the use of "they" as a singular pronoun, well then that person is a troll (let me guess, this is accurate?)
If I say that trans athletes competing as women is a dumb idea... you will probably call me a troll as well etc.
