I appreciate your responses. People don't have to agree on everything to have an important discussion.
You're right and it's a common complaint that we're not being listened to. Or that voters got fooled by Republican ads on the radio because they're too dumb to understand better. It's at the point where with the quality of the current outreach, just don't even bother.

Thing is though while Trumps racist and bigoted comments got into the news, they were then pushed out by the next one, and the next one, etc. every day and eventually became normalized. It filtered down and goes all through the Republican party and happens on a daily basis, you'll get an article here and there but it never gets condemned by the Republican party and gets washed away fast. It's not reprehensible comments for Republicans, it's a selling point.
It should've stopped here:

As I keep saying, there is a specific definition to malicious compliance. It is distinct from maliciousness. I'm pretty sure DeSantis and McConnell are capable of malicious compliance, but I'm unaware of a situation where they seem to follow the text of a law in a way that is meant to provoke a backlash against it. They've got different resources available.
Sincerely,

The problem is that you (and not just you but all the other "woke" folks here as well; if you don't like that term - I didn't invent it - we can say "politically correct" or whatever works) get easily offended by different opinions and just decide to dismiss, make fun of and insult. That's not democracy.
I didn't acknowledge it was 'trollish' btw, I said I was messing with you because you get easily offended by different opinions and by anything that doesn't fit the mold.
It's like when I made a comment about the "they" pronouns, you were ready to pounce... because if someone doesn't agree with the use of "they" as a singular pronoun, well then that person is a troll (let me guess, this is accurate?)
If I say that trans athletes competing as women is a dumb idea... you will probably call me a troll as well etc.
