Zero Hedge has republished stories from Russian state-controlled outlets, amplifying them to a larger audience, unnamed intelligence officials told the AP, though they didn’t accuse Zero Hedge of direct ties to Russia or specify whether the site knowingly spread propaganda.

The AP noted Zero Hedge has published several articles critical of the U.S. stance on Ukraine that were bylined by the Strategic Culture Foundation, which the Biden Administration sanctioned last year for alleged election interference and publicly accused of being controlled by Russia’s foreign intelligence service.

According to the article, the entire force was white, so for some, I'm sure race probably had something to do with it.
I also suspect there's some history of unprofessional behavior which would eventually come out.

The town had a black city manager prior to the new black city manager, and no mass resignations. Its a town of 1,500 people, by the way. With that size of city, I can see people in government just saying "screw it, I'm out" very easily.

Between Bernie and Yang, "not knowing when to leave" seems to be a good selling point for chaos agents.

Bernie's idea of chaos is a European-style Social Democratic safety net, less defense spending (which even the Pentagon agrees with), crafting laws to protect the most vulnerable populations, and trying to equalize the balance in power between the labor force and the investing class. Just f##king awful.

I guess if your definition of chaos is, "not lining up to tow the conservative centrist Party line".

While I don't doubt there's people out there that are just too lazy or too dumb to vote...there's also SIGNIFICANT effort from a certain party of cruel lunatics to PREVENT people from voting any way they can short of physically attacking them in line (for now)

That sounds like a good motivation for people to vote against those lunatics, while they can.

Russia and Ukraine have blamed each other for a rocket attack that killed dozens of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the occupied part of Donetsk region.

Ukraine says the prison was targeted by Russia in an effort to destroy evidence of torture and killing.

China's hostile rhetoric continues to increase over Pelosi's possible visit to Taiwan. Yesterday their foreign affairs minister repeated that if there's any US military movement along with her visit, it would be crossing their red line. This morning their state-run media tweeted, "If US fighter jets escort Pelosi’s plane into Taiwan, it is invasion. The PLA has the right to forcibly dispel Pelosi’s plane and the US fighter jets, including firing warning shots and making tactical movement of obstruction. If ineffective, then shoot them down."

No way China will start WW3 by attacking one of the most important politicians in the US but I don't like that they think they can just toss these threats around. Considering Biden last week admitted that the military thinks her trip is "not a good idea right now", perhaps she should postpone that portion of her trip to Asia if she hasn't done so already. She leaves (or already left) today.

Russia's economy has been "catastrophically crippled" by western sanctions and the mass exodus of international companies, according to a Yale University study.

The research -- which the authors say is the "first comprehensive" analysis of the Russian economy -- found that since the start of the Ukraine war, Russia has taken a devastating hit across multiple metrics.

"Russia has lost companies representing ~40% of its GDP, reversing nearly all of three decades worth of foreign investment," write researchers at the Yale School of Management, adding that this situation has been worsened by an "unprecedented" capital and population flight.

More than 1,000 companies have curtailed their operations in Russia or exited the country entirely since the start of the Ukraine war, across almost every industry from fashion to finance.

The five authors of the study note that their findings challenge growing claims that sanctions are hurting the West more than Moscow.

They write: "As the Russian invasion of Ukraine enters into its fifth month, a common narrative has emerged that the unity of the world in standing up to Russia has somehow devolved into a “war of economic attrition which is taking its toll on the west”, given the supposed “resilience” and even “prosperity” of the Russian economy."

Russia does have a pretty good track history of lying, and trying to explain away war crimes by going, "No. It was you." They're the geopolitical equivalent of Peter Griffin farting in an elevator.



I'm thinking that anyone who falsely justifies the whole war as "the De-Nazifying of Ukraine", a country being run by a Jewish man, is about the beginning and end of any belief anyone should have in anything they say.
