Take this with the proverbial grain of salt because of the source, but I read a tweet that the so-called “Forward Party”, Andrew Yang’s vanity project is being bankrolled by a Republican superpac. It’s a smart move by the GQP, just like with Jill Stein and the Green Party, the only thing a third party will do is split the vote among Democrats and give the Qpublicans a better shot at winning the White House in 2024.

Let's hope it backfires and Yang takes some conservative voters who are not into Trump away from GOP.

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is expected to visit Taiwan as part of her tour of Asia, according to a senior Taiwanese government official and a US official, despite warnings from Biden administration officials, who are worried about China's response to such a high-profile visit.

The stop -- the first for a US House speaker in 25 years -- is not currently on Pelosi's public itinerary and comes at a time when US-China relations are already at a low point.

The Taiwanese official added that she is expected to stay in Taiwan overnight. It is unclear when exactly Pelosi will land in Taipei.

The US official added that Defense Department officials are working around the clock on monitoring any Chinese movements in the region and securing a plan to keep her safe.

That won't happen. Republican voters are locked in, even the ones who claim they aren't. Only Democratic voters fall for that trick, wasting votes on irrelevant candidates like Nader and Stein.

I appreciate a show of strength that does not resort to calling other leaders names, but showing support to allies who are threatened by powerful forces.

Bankrolling third candidates is a common GoP tactic. If this was a lesser race they'd also try and find someone named "Biden" to run, preferably with a first name like "Fred" so that he might appear on a higher line on non-partisan ballots.
