    You know ...

The full effects of HPV were not known until 10-20 years after the first cases.

Young Adults treated it as a joke and helped spread it.

Then those "kids" started getting penile and vaginal cancer.

Are they sure they want to roll the dice on this?

When it comes to the kids, I don't know that they have even taken an extra second to really weigh that they are indeed rolling the dice.

A couple of weeks ago an Indiana woman had lung transplants at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. This article has a picture of her chest X-Ray prior to the operation. There are huge holes in her lungs and she was healthy before contracting Covid-19. When studying the removed lungs, the surgeon said that she had no viable regions left

Unfortunately, I've taken several political evaluation tests, and I'm clearly on that leftist/liberal fringe, but even I know those parties are nothing but pitiful, do-good losers. If you want results, you're gonna have to stick to the Democratic Party. You can't just be that ideologically pure and keep arguing that, and I have seen this from people on YouTube like PhilosophyTube, Biden will be worse than Trump; we have seen Trump's America, and not the warped, fantasy version Dinesh D'Souza is going to make in a few years to defend the asshole.

And, yes, I know I voted for Johnson in 2016. I won't make that mistake again.
I do wonder what this GOP is turning into and if they're too far gone. When you see someone like George Will leave the party you have to scratch your head. The ones that are "sane" are too quiet right now. They should be screaming bloody literal murder with this latest development with Russia paying a bounty on American soldiers.

These past few years you always hear someone on the usual commentary shows saying a lot of Republicans tell them off the record they don't like Trump but are afraid to have him focus his wrath on them. It's also true that a frightening number of electorate are supporting this would be dictator/demagogue. Many are probably a lost cause. One day Trump will be pushing up daisies....and who will be there to pick up the pieces of the GOP? We are stronger with a two party system but not with one that's getting dangerously close to becoming the Brown shirts of the 21st century. Thankfully I think very very few generals and others in the higher echelon of the military are blind followers of Trump

Republicans signal to Trump to back down on defense bill veto threat over renaming Confederate bases

President Trump is increasingly isolated over his staunch defense of Confederate symbols on military bases, as uneasy congressional Republicans signal to the White House that now is not the time to hold the Pentagon hostage to this one issue.

Trump threatened late Tuesday to veto a $740 billion defense policy bill if it included bipartisan language mandating the removal of the names of Confederate leaders from military installations. Hours later, Republicans on both sides of the Capitol made it clear the president needs to back down in a fight over honoring secessionists who fought the United States to maintain slavery.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) reaffirmed his support for the Senate’s version of the bill that directs the Pentagon to rename such bases within three years. In the House Armed Services Committee — where lawmakers were expected Wednesday night to approve a similar provision accelerating that time frame to one year — the panel adopted a proposal by Rep. Anthony G. Brown (D-Md.) to ban Confederate flags on all Defense Department property — with no Republicans objecting.
My uninformed take: Trump doesn't give a shit about the military, never has, this is all about keeping his white supremacist followers fat, dumb and happy by not removing the names of Confederacy losers from those bases. But nervous Republicans, knowing that anything that even remotely smells like not supporting the troops in the eyes of the public is third rail deadly, especially in an election year when their jobs could well be at stake. On top of that, with Trump badly teetering in the polls, thanks to his disastrous response to COVID-19 and the latest controversy with the Russian Bountygate, Republicans see the iceberg on the horizon and are starting to jump ship.

Maybe its because I have had a medical conditional all my life, but I really can't understand how so many people are so casual about how ignorant they are about COVID. We are literally in the first outbreak. We have more reliable facts on UFOs at the moment.

Saw this on Twitter and thought I'd share here. This piece explains Trump to perfection:

Donald Trump Is All Done Caring

The presidency is no fun. Thomas Jefferson called it “a painful and thankless office” and said it brought him “nothing but unceasing drudgery and daily loss of friends.” George Washington said the presidency gave him “feelings not unlike those of a culprit who is going to the place of his execution.” William Howard Taft said the White House was “the lonesomest place in the world.” Warren Harding called it “a prison. I can’t get away from the men who dog my footsteps. I am in jail.” The president is simultaneously lonely and yet constantly surrounded by the worst kind of people—those who pat you on the back one day and stab you in the back the next.

Of course, the presidency has its perks. Among them are Air Force One, a helicopter, a $1.5 million limousine, personal bodyguards, a mansion, global prestige, and immunity from criminal prosecution. Staying in the White House is a great way to stay out of jail.

It’s also a great way to stay on TV. President Trump craves attention and approval more than anything. Being on The Apprentice, Trump told Playboy in 2004, was “like being a rock star. Six people do nothing but sort my mail. People come in and want my secretary Robin’s autograph…. People like me much better than they did before The Apprentice.”

For Trump, being watched has always meant being liked.
Trump is not interested in the actual job of the presidency. He’s interested in the attention the presidency affords him.

After his election, he discovered that running for president was easier and more fun than being president. Which is why he continued to hold campaign rallies even after he was elected. He wasn’t campaigning for anything. He just liked hearing crowds screaming his name. Unlike most politicians, who campaign in order to govern, Trump campaigns as a way to avoid governing.

By the same token, his politics are an extension of his ego—which is why, at his rallies, he tells the crowds how big his crowds are and not what his policies are. Trump says he’ll hold rallies after he wins the 2020 election, too—even though he will be ineligible to run for the presidency again.

Instead of holding rallies for the purpose of getting elected, Trump wants to get elected so he can keep having rallies.

I have seen that making the rounds. But they probably took it from the Marines

    Which is also insulting.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

It actually was a Shutterstock image as was pointed out by someone on Twitter

Considering how 'wealthy' Trump is, you'd think he'd have enough money to commission original graphic artwork for his campaign.

C'mon now, Tami! We're talking about Trump, the king of skinflints! When has he EVER shelled out money to pay for something when he can copy and/or steal instead?

That's not the only "new" one brought to my attention. Yesterday, Teague and several other Republicans had been added to Media Matters' investigation into the staggering number of Qanon Conspiracy Theorists running for Congress as Republican candidates.

    https://www.mediamatters.org/qanon-c...-congress-2020

A frightening number have advanced out of primaries, and two of those are Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor-Greene doing so in districts noted for having a Republican lean. Qanon seems to have done a "zerg rush" of sorts into trying to get one of their number to Washington, DC, to make a spectacle of themselves... arguably if there are "sane" Republicans left, they couldn't stop them because this isn't a fringe anymore. This is their party now.

Similarly to Covid-19 response, the GOP neglected to do something about a crisis and are just letting it wash over the party while shrugging. So at least they are consistent about being ineffective cowards.
