Black people weren't historically allowed in public swimming pools in many places (not just the south by any stretch) and, if they happened to get into one, the pool had to be drained completely and refilled.

    Not a fake story.

What a strange thing to say.
Maybe listening to the entire clip would be better than a conservative's opinion. She's saying the stats show that black children are more prone to drowning due to lack of resources.

I saw it. Still a dumb comment IMO. So historically there's a lot of bad things... so what? Are we gonna change swimming in 2022?

She should be focused on other things, according to the latest polls her husband might lose the race.

Why is calling out racism dumb?

When it goes to levels of absurdity it's dumb. Certain people can see racism in everything and everywhere.

I'm not defending racism, obviously! I reject all forms of racism.

So what actions do you take because of her comments? What are her comments helping with? (she's free to say whatever she wants, of course)
Are we supposed to stop swimming? I don't get it. I understand what she was trying to say (the part about the stats) but it just comes out as completely silly.

Given the context in which she said it, the comment is accurate and makes sense.

The headline doesn’t help by being misleading.

Dunno, I can't find the full clip. Looks like she was just telling a story of her (or someone's) past and conservatives latched on to a few words instead of the entire clip.

Spoken like someone who doesn't know the history of segregated swimming pools in America. There's a reason Fred Rogers sitting with his feet in a pool of water with a black man was controversial.

Misleading or not, she said it

Is Ari Blaff from Yahoo supposed to be a conservative?

Of course. Here comes the spin.

I am not disputing what she said afterwards about statistics, btw.

My dad spent a lot of time in Mississippi when he was a child in the 60s. He told me about how he got beat by his uncle because it was a real hot day and he used a blacks only water fountain at the park. He was 7 and didnt know what the sign meant. He just knew there was a line of kids in the whites only one and he was hot.

    They took it very seriously.

Ari isn't from Yahoo. Yahoo has their own journalists and articles but they also post articles from other sites. The link you posted states it's from the National Review.

That's not spin. That's the American context this exists in that you are choosing to ignore.

I wish Tucker would give the GOP their talking point on the Pelosi attack.

So far I have heard everything from

High priced call girl and her pimp.

A fake/staged attack by a devoted Antifa member.

An attack by the extreme left.

    A random homeless black junkie.

It could not have been a Maga follower because San Francisco is such a blue city.

To this never happened and the police are in on it and there has been no one arrested.
