Which is exactly why GOP is so mystified at the midterm results. All this time trying to punish groups based solely on hatred rather than try to make laws and policies that attract voters. There is a limit to what the focus on hate policy gets them.

In their defense: Actually facing consequences for their actions at the polls is a pretty new thing for Republicans. They have gotten away with so much for so long.

Analysts like Jon Ralston -- and others -- seem to think CCM pulls it off in Nevada based on outstanding ballots. Same seems to be true of Arizona for Kelly and Hobbes. If both of those hold true, the Dems will have a lot to celebrate even if they lose the House.

Interestingly, the GOP will have won the popular house vote and still have come up well short of some of their past midterm romps.

The GOP are running a campaign on hate, misinformation and fear mongering and they still have a good chance of taking both houses. Dems need to figure out why so many Americans are so easily aligning with those views.
