How did he exert said pressure?

"the then-vice president admittedly pressured Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk into getting rid of Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin by threatening to withhold a $1 billion US loan guarantee".

Did he really? He bragged about it, and in poor taste to boot:

The problem there is that the guy who got fired was slow walking any investigating (and it looks more like slow means stop in this case).

Firing a guy who was effectively protecting your son in favor of someone who is more of a question mark has got to be some of the worst protecting ever.

And the decision to leverage the funds wasn’t Biden’s alone. It came with the urging and support of several other European governments and organizations.

But not a surprise from someone who takes Putin's side in this criminal invasion.
Posting someone who blocks comments and only posts anti-Ukraine stories also shows they use "unbiased" sources.

Burisma hired Hunter in April 2014, between weeks, they were asking him to "use your influence to convey a message/signal", in under a year, a representative of the company was face to face with the VP and in December, that same VP was threatening to withhold a billion. As if it was his own money. The prosecutor was fired, the billion was granted, the company obviously hired the right man for the job.

The USA Today article gives Biden's new stance on the subject, the original one being that he knew nothing about his son's business. Then again, the FBI's initial take on the subject was that they didn't know about the laptop they now admit they've had all along. No wait, the initial one was that they expected Russian misinformation about the Bidens, ahead of the presidential elections, right? It's difficult to keep track of their versions.

BTW, I take the side of the civilians killed in the Donbass. Just yesterday 14 in different attacks, one with an M31 rocket fired from a HIMARS:

Russian is like the stories people tell of the Inuit language. Inuit is said to have a couple dozen words for snow, Russian has more words for lying than you might think. They even have a single word to describe the culture of lying where everyone knows it's all crap but goes along with it anyways - Vranyo (I might have gotten the spelling wrong on it though, invalidating everything I just typed per the RuleZ of da Interwebs)

Not a good day for all things Trump, which means a great day for decency.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Special counsel Jack Smith has subpoenaed local election officials in Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona and Pennsylvania, asking for communications with or involving former President Donald Trump, his 2020 campaign aides and a list of allies involved in his efforts to try to overturn the results of the election.

The requests, issued to Milwaukee and Dane counties in Wisconsin; Wayne County, Michigan; Maricopa County, Arizona; and Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, are the first known subpoenas by Smith, who was named special counsel last month by Attorney General Merrick Garland.

    ...
The subpoenas, some of which were first reported by The Washington Post, are the clearest indication yet that Smith’s work will include an examination of the fake electors that were part of Trump’s efforts to subvert the election count and certification. All of the states where requests were sent are states that Trump and his allies targeted as they tried to overturn the democratic vote.

    Good. Guy's a crook.

Lawyer and client have a relationship based on trust. It was the lawyer's job to build trust with his clients. His clients trusted him and he betrayed their trust. That is why he lost his right to practice law in California. He was disbarred.

Even if he gets out of prison and gets his law license back, nobody would hire a lawyer who stole millions of dollars from his clients.

I hope we have seen and heard the last of Michael Avenatti. But I doubt it.
