I think this brings up a bigger issue.

Why use that agency and not the police?
ICE and Border Sec. is the only agency that is full in for Trump. The Military would push back from being used.

And cops have to answer to Mayors and District Attorneys. ICE and Border Security are Trump’s personal militia.

We actually don't know if these are government employees. They could be Black Water or GRU.

Tragic, but yet so avoidable. The governor of Florida needs to step down, he had plenty of time to prepare when New York lite up, but he chose not to shut down the bars, beaches, and restaurants, or advise face masks and precautions. Idiocy and incompetence of the greatest magnitude, the buck stops with him.

    Why is that I wonder?
Because your news sources may be limited.

Not an imaginary bullshit scenerio you have pulled out of your ass to muddy the waters here.

If you were actually as outraged by this as you should be, you would not continue in this whatabout garbage.

And BTW Mets, this is what Trump's Goons did

So keep trying to make this an argument about fantasy Democratic behavior, it only reflects on you.
It seems to me that if you were making a good-faith effort to inform anyone who hasn't seen the same information you do, you would include a link to a trusted news source about this story to demonstrate that this is someone identifying themselves as a victim of extrajudicial police tactics by Trump's goons.

Can you prove that the information is being denied to them completely? Because otherwise, you're complaining about companies not allowing a fox in their henhouse
The fact that this is being painted as intellectual property theft means that the pharma companies have no intention of sharing their research, after all why would anyone bother to make a fuss about this if the hackers were just peeking at data that was soon to be made publicly available anyway? Let's be clear here, not only is the US alone in treating its vaccine candidates as an expensive commodity rather than a global public good, it is also fairly obvious that the government intends to use the vaccine as a geopolitical tool to bully other nations into submission, you can be sure that countries like Venezuela will be near the bottom of the list to get them. This plan falls apart completely if China is able to bring a vaccine to market first, which they currently on track to do, so getting out in front of that by painting it as stolen and defective somehow is a way to save face and possibly scaring other countries enough to wait for the American alternative instead.

Trump’s company applied to trademark ‘telerally.’ Then, President Trump held a tele-rally.

President Trump’s private company last week filed a trademark application that suggested it is starting a new line of business: organizing “telerallies” for political campaigns.

In an application to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, a subsidiary of the Trump Organization sought to trademark the word “telerally,” for use in “organizing events in the field of politics and political campaigning.”

That could mark a shift in the company’s business model. Since Trump took office, his business has been paid millions by political campaigns, including Trump’s own reelection effort. But it always remained one step away from politics itself: the company rented out ballrooms and office space to campaigns, but did not market itself as a political company or offer services related to rallies or reaching voters.
There is something about that word that bothers me.

Sigh...no. But thanks for playing. Unless you have some actual facts to back that up?

My position is that allowing China free access into otherwise classified systems would be no different than inviting bank robbers into a bank to case it.

Time and again, China has acted to steal intellectual property. It'd be foolish to allow them the benefit of the doubt, and it doesn't justify them trying to steal the data with hackers.
Also, I understand ‘warning’ about Imperial America, but using that in the context of China doesn’t really work

A new Trump campaign ad depicting a police officer being attacked by protesters is actually a 2014 photo of pro-democracy protests in Ukraine

A new ad for President Donald Trump's reelection campaign used an image of pro-democracy protests in Ukraine from 2014 to show what it called "chaos & violence" in the US.

The ad, published on Tuesday, includes a photo of the president listening to police leaders next to another photo appearing to show a group of protesters attacking a police officer on the ground.

"Public safety vs chaos & violence," the text underneath the photos says.

It's a vaccine being developed by a private company, the idea that the data was intended to be made public but is just being kept private for the time being in order to protect other data that might be stored on the same server makes no sense whatsoever. Whatever China's history of intellectual property theft doesn't matter here, because this vaccine should never have been intellectual property to begin with.

Disgusting. He has now announced that he is planning to send federal troops into Chicago, which I fear has the potentiality of turning that city into warzone after the George Floyd murder.

    https://nypost.com/2020/07/22/trump-...amid-violence/

Trump has a disturbing history with views when it comes to race, violence and law and order dating back to the Central Park 5 case, to his dark "Law & Order" speech at the Republican convection.

He is incapable of bringing the nation together, and appears to be deliberately dividing the nation for re-election purposes, which makes him unfit to be President.

Thing is, the GOP clearly doesn't care about fitness. All the many, many, many, MANY ways Trump is unfit were pointed out well before he got elected. Republicans didnt care then, and they wont care now. They only care about hoarding resources, drinking sweet liberal tears, oppressing women and LGBT+ folks and people of color, all while manipulating poor whites into supporting them blindly by appealing to fear, institutional racism and general bigotry, and religious fervor/ignorance.

The entire world has known for DECADES that Trump is unfit to be president. And yet, here we are.

It's a little hard to create new infrastructure out of nothing.
