Another right wing-nut rally was held in the town I grew up in. Trump supporters have gone from illiterate conspiracy theorist to full on death cult. Trump’s new slogan really should be “Trump 2020: Die for me!”

They don’t care about how many American lives they put at risk, as long as their lord and savior Donald Trump is appeased.

Don't give Trump ideas! He might just use that slogan, and his lemmings would happily slurp his poisoned Kool-Aid.

It was on this date in 2015 that “Crazy/Stupid Republican of the Day” profiled Tom Ready, a former Pueblo County, Colorado Republican Party Chairman who was running for county commissioner in 2014. His record already was spotty, as he had been accused of domestic violence by his wife back in 1991, but he showed himself to be still a bit unpalatable as an elected official when during a debate against his opponent, he was confronted about having made several posts about the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary being a hoax. Rather than just blow off his opponent’s claim, Ready took the bait and began discussing his belief of the conspiracy to enact gun control, going as far as accusing one of the fathers of one of the victims of faking tears. The crowd was good enough to boo Ready for his disgusting remarks, and since he’s now probably too toxic to attempt to win an election again (we hope).

It was on this date in 2016 that “Crazy/Stupid Republican of the Day” profiled Jud McMillin, a former member of the Indiana House of Representatives who would coast to victory in all three elections he ran after taking office in the Tea Party Wave in 2010. However, in the midst of his third term in office, abruptly resigned after a graphic sex video of McMillin was sent from his cell phone video to many, if not all of his contacts. In what was perhaps the weirdest excuse ever for such a thing to have happened, McMillin blamed this incident on Canadian thieves having stolen his phone, and then uploading the videos during a trip to Quebec City (except McMillan was in them). McMillin’s resignation would make it clear that whoever starred in his video with him was not his wife, as in it, he made reference to how t he was married and that he “decided the time is right for me to pass the torch and spend more time with my family.” Jud likely has a lot of explaining to do, as this was not the first time he was ever caught sending out sex videos of himself… in 2005 he was forced to resign as a prosecutor after during a case where he was prosecuting a domestic violence case, he began sending videos of himself masturbating and playing around to dildos to the defendant’s accuser and wife. Now, here comes some delightful irony… Jud McMillin, as a state legislator, had previously blocked a bill to prevent people from being charged with revenge porn, so he wouldn’t be able to seek legal repercussion against whoever stole his phone and victimized him. Well, adding a dash of hypocrisy would probably be the fact that Jud McMillin was also a sponsor of Indiana’s “SB 101, the “Religious Freedom Restoration Act” and he previously voted to try and create an amendment to the Indiana state constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman. Which means, yes, the guy who runs around on his wife and films it on his phone is just pretending when he says he’s writing laws to “protect the sanctity of marriage” from gay people based on their own religious beliefs. Shocking, I know. Now, as it turns out, not all of Jud McMillin’s ethical lapses were of a sexual nature, as he was also under investigation for funneling thousands of dollars of state grants funds for a casino project to his law firm back in 2013. McMillin, however, was not as keen as when others get government money, as he also led a failed effort to try to drug test all welfare recipients in the state of Indiana as a legislator on multiple occasions. There's no coming back from the amount of shadiness he exhibited to win office again, at least we’d hope.)

It was on this date in 2017, and 2018, that “Crazy/Stupid Republican of the Day” profiled Robert Fisher, a now former member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives who was outed in an investigation by The Daily Beast as having a variety of internet sock puppet accounts, perhaps the most inflammatory being "pk_Atheist", the creator of "The Red Pill", a Men's Rights' Activist forum on Reddit that advocates a pro-rape agenda. And we're not saying this is some scenario where Fisher created it, and trolls came along and took things to a dark place... he himself continued to frequently post about women being able to lie about rape to get men thrown in prison (and a paranoid fear this would happen to him), taping sexual encounters as evidence that it was not rape (with or without a woman's consent), women's "sub-par intelligence", tips on "negging" (a pick-up-artist tactic where a man gives backhanded compliments calculated to undermine confidence and make a woman more vulnerable to advances), how to “spin plates” (balance sleeping with several women at once), argued against statutory rape and age of consent laws because they supposedly gave the sexes unequal treatment, posted tips on how to engage in post-rape text messages with victims to get them to say they enjoyed themselves to use as evidence in court in case one was ever accused, and argued in defense of the rapists in the Steubenville, Ohio case. While first campaigning for state legislature in 2014, Fisher actually admitted to "lurking" on Men's Rights forums, and started a thread as himself to discuss a supposed plague of false rape accusations. At first, Robert Fisher tried logging in and deleting all his Reddit threads and his sock-puppet accounts, after the story broke, but Bonnie Bacarrisse, the journalist who exposed his alter-ego, thought ahead and archived and screen-capped Fisher’s work for posterity prior to publishing. Backed into a corner, Fisher released a statement where he pledged to “continue to stand strong for men's rights” We are thrilled to report that Fisher finally did resign in disgrace, rather than face disciplinary action for his online activities and the threat of perjury charges for lying about his ties to “The Red Pill”.

    David Eastman

On this date one year ago, “Crazy/Stupid Republican of the Day” profiled David Eastman, a current member of the Alaska House of Representatives first elected to office in 2016 after a failed attempt to win a seat on the Alaska State Senate back in 2012. His district is better known as the little Alaskan hamlet known as Wasilla, aka the wellspring that gave our nation Sarah Palin. And yeah, there might be something in the water in that burg.

David Eastman came to our attention here at CSGOPOTD because of the extent of his anti-choice fervor. It isn’t just that this upstart GOP legislator literally compares abortion to slavery, and in his one term and change in office, Eastman has already become known as the lunatic willing to be the one lone “no” vote on several pieces of bi-partisan legislative ideas, including honoring African Americans of the Vietnam War, being the lone vote against honoring the African American workers who built the Alaska Highway, and he once submitted an amendment to a bill aimed at raising awareness for sexual assault and child abuse that required that abortion would be referred to as a form of “child abuse”.

That’s still not all, Eastman is really “out there” on abortion. In an interview back in May of 2017, only a few months into his first term in office, he gave his opinion that there are women trying to deliberately get pregnant because they can use an abortion as a means to get a “free vacation” to come down to Anchorage:

So that little statement was enough to earn Eastman a censure from at the state legislature, and he dug in and refused to apologize for it. Amid the controversy, a legislative aide at the capitol who just resembled Eastman died his natural red hair blonde just to avoid catching hell from people who mistook him for Eastman. Alaska Republicans have also come to realize that Eastman is a corruption scandal waiting to happen, as by the end of his first term in office, he had committed an ethics violation by leaking information from a confidential state report to a reporter as a means of trying to damage a Democratic colleague.

We’re wondering how David Eastman’s 2020 election fortunes are going to be, as the Alaska GOP is so sick of his s***, they’ve placed him on probation for his inane outbursts and obstruction, and have removed him from all roles he plays in committees within the legislature. Did we mention the Alaska GOP also have gotten a guy by the name of Jesse Sumner to file as a primary challenger to Eastman?

It’s beginning to look like his four year stretch of madness might come to an end in November.

Oh WBE! Got another Republican for you. Meet Andy Biggs from Arizona District 5.

WASHINGTON — Democrats and Republicans alike somberly approached the podium in the U.S. House chamber on Thursday to declare their support for hundreds of billions of dollars in additional federal COVID-19 pandemic aid.

    But not Andy Biggs.

In a fiery speech, the Republican congressman from Gilbert questioned “how much longer the American people will acquiesce to unconstitutional and crushing government action.” And he declared: “We need to open up America now.”

Even as most Republicans — including fiscal hawks loath to increase the deficit — have backed nearly $3 trillion in coronavirus aid spending, Biggs is helping to lead the congressional resistance.

He is one of a few lawmakers who has publicly opposed all four coronavirus relief packages passed over the last two months.

In speeches and op-eds over the past month, Biggs has ripped into the federal and state government’s response to COVID-19 — including stay-at-home orders that are backed by President Donald Trump, like the one issued by Gov. Doug Ducey. On the House floor Thursday, Biggs called on U.S. governors “to free their citizens immediately.”

Public opinion polls have shown that most Americans believe the restrictions are important: An April 16 Pew Research Center survey found that 66% of Americans say they are more concerned that these restrictions will be lifted too quickly, while only 32% say they are more concerned they won’t be lifted quickly enough.

The plea goes against Trump’s comments Thursday that he may extend national social distancing guidelines through the summer or beyond.

But Trump doesn’t seem to mind: He named Biggs last week to a congressional task force charged with advising the administration on how and when to reopen the economy.

Biggs said Thursday that “the cure is proving worse than the disease” — a message he will likely continue to make on the task force and in newspaper op-ed pages, on conservative news programs and on social media as the pandemic wears on.
Was against all four relief packages, been constantly demanding reopening of all businesses, spouting the cure is worse than the disease be, and more.

Here's him yelling at Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx.

Give them the gold watch and say thank you, exit stage left. It's time for them to go out and be quarantined without a government paycheck and see how they like that. We'll see how they like it. Because that's what you've got. You've got two classes of people in America today. You've got the people who are the bureaucrats. Their policies have produced the division in this country, that produced an economic depression in this country. They've basically they've created societal problems, everything from more suicides, more suicide hotline calls, domestic violence, child abuse, increased use of drugs and alcohol. They've basically sanctioned elimination, and if it's not full elimination, at least a curtailing of our rights. And basically, they said we would rather commit economic suicide than have freedom and let people govern themselves and take the risk of freedom. And then we could have put in reasonable policies to protect the most vulnerable. We know who the most vulnerable was from the get-go. We knew it was the elderly. We knew that it was people with these types of of morbidities and health problems. But instead they said, let's quarantine the healthy as well. You have this quasi-martial law feel going on.
He also mentioned voting against one of the relief packages for homophobic reasons.

“They’ve redefined family for the first time in a federal — in a piece of federal legislation, to include committed relationships,” Biggs said Monday on a radio program produced by the conservative Christian group Family Research Council. “The problem with that is it’s really hard to define a committed relationship, and it’s really hard to define anything related to that.”
    Same article too.

Biggs is a Christian conservative who previously called the Supreme Court case Obergefell v. Hodges, which recognized the right of same-sex couples to marry, an attempt to “redefine marriage” and “an affront to the millions of Americans who believe marriage is between a man and a woman.” He previously served as the Arizona state Senate president, a role which he used to usher in legislation for business owners to assert religious belief in order to refuse service to LGBT people and others.
He also doesn't believe in climate change, called on Robert Mueller to resign, one of 11 Republicans to oppose the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund bill H.R. 1327, blocked a bill banning driving while texting for holders of a learning permit, and wants to overturn Roe v Wade.

I'm surprised you haven't covered this guy yet since there's so much BS to him. If you have, your blog doesn't pull him up when I search his name. Either way, what a piece of crap.

Chinese State Media Demands U.S. Evidence That Coronavirus Came From Lab

Chinese state media has reacted angrily to the latest suggestions from President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic originated at a research laboratory in Wuhan, and that Beijing has since been trying to hide the course of the subsequent outbreak.

Trump and Pompeo have repeatedly blamed China for the pandemic, which has now infected more than 3.5 million people and killed more than 247,000 people worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak was initially thought to have begun in a wildlife market in the central city of Wuhan, but the Trump administration has focused its attention on the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a few miles away from the suspect market. Last week, Trump claimed he is confident that the virus came from the WIV—whether released accidentally or otherwise.

Pompeo said Sunday he had seen "enormous evidence" supporting the theory, though did not provide the evidence nor elaborate on the information. U.S. intelligence has concluded that the COVID-19 virus was not man made or genetically modified, though officials are investigating whether it could have been released from the WIV.
Looks like a put up or shut up moment for Drano Don. I suspect it'll be the latter and Trump backs off his claim because I don't think he has proof, that, as usual, he was just talking out his orange ass.

For Trump supporters "Drinking the Kool Aid" is no longer figurative.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

I've heard it could have been an accidental release elsewhere (from sites that are normally critical of Trump and other right wing figures/media) but the best look I see from this is "which liar should we believe?"

You probably should trust the government that doesn't have a track record of purposely infecting its own people with diseases for "research" purposes. Fucking commies, oh wait that was us...

Right now, I'm not seeing any reason to believe it was released from a lab in Wuhan.

Yet they do have a track record of censoring their own people's media/entertainment and others. I'm not saying we don't have such a history (Hays Code) and attempts have been made over the decades, with varying degrees of success from both protesters and legislators in regards to our media/entertainment, etc.

There have been epidemic and Pandemic outbreaks for generations. those that could be traced, usually involved animal to human transmission or some kind of viral mutation. Both natural. To assume that isn't the case this time, is a far stretch of the imagination.
