Well there you have it, even though the Democrats went out of their way to run a candidate who promised to do exactly none of those things, they're still getting accused of being dirty cultural Marxist SJWs anyway, and I'm sure this is pretty indicative of how most right-leaning voters feel regardless of what facts they're presented with. So the real question is, if the opposition is going to accuse the party of being radical activists anyway, why not actually just be that and maybe help some people in the process?

Because the party would fail by swinging the pendulum too far in the other direction. The Democrats are not only needed but necessary for being the party of governance, not being extreme. There's reason the politicians who go this route lose more often than not. They choose doing nothing over actual progress. It also would bring in people who would echo what the GOP do who prioritise rhetoric and over knowing how the government works. Even the Justice Democrats have many politicians who know not to push too far, that's what separates AOC from Illan Omar.

And what other nuggets of wisdom did you learn from Faux News in addition to all that nonsense?

The Democrats are needed to occupy the sensible middle ground between not enough people having health care, and too many people having health care.

How to talk to conspiracy theorists—and still be kind

On May 4, a slick, 26-minute video was released, alleging that the coronavirus was actually a laboratory-manipulated virus deployed to wreak havoc so that a resulting vaccine could be used for profit. None of that was true, and Plandemic’s claims were thoroughly, repeatedly debunked. Still, it went viral, getting liked on Facebook 2.5 million times. Soon after, another conspiracy theory took hold: Bill Gates's plan was to control vaccination efforts that would include tracking people via implanted microchips activated by 5G cellular towers. Again, obviously not true.

But a Pew Research Center survey of US adults found that 36% thought these conspiracy theories were probably or definitely true. Perhaps some of those people are your family, your friends, your neighbors.

So how do you talk to a person who believes a conspiracy theory? This is something that the members of one of the internet’s most vibrant communities, r/ChangeMyView, deal with on a daily basis. This is the place on Reddit where people go to have their own beliefs challenged, and it is known as a calm, moderate place for debate.

South Dakota declines to boost unemployment payments under Trump’s order

Noem, one of Trump’s most vocal allies, said South Dakota did not need to accept the additional federal jobless aid because workers in the state are being rehired, and its economy is on the mend, even as the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage across the United States.

Under Trump’s order, the federal government aims to divert billions of dollars in federal disaster assistance to out-of-work Americans, adding at least $300 more to their weekly benefit amounts — and more if states put up additional financing of their own. The program is supposed to offer a brief, temporary respite after the $600 payments that millions of workers had received regularly expired at the end of July.
Labor economists and unemployment experts said the reality is far more complicated in South Dakota, where total confirmed coronavirus cases since February recently surpassed 10,000. In citing progress, Noem this week pointed to the fact that the Mount Rushmore State boasts the country’s lowest insured jobless rate at roughly 3.5 percent. But the figure measures those who receive benefits compared with the total labor force. Meanwhile, South Dakota’s overall unemployment rate is roughly 7.2 percent, a gap in indicators that may reflect the reality that some people out of work are having a hard time obtaining sufficient safety-net support.

What I said before. You’re going to get accused of being a crazy liberal anyways and if they could paint Hillary as that (and they did) they could do it to Biden who they called a socialist with Obama for 8 years. But go right ahead and chase that mythical moderate Republican unicorn. Also have Kasich take a shot at AOC at your convention. They never learn. Rather than bridge gap they just got outflanked as being two liberal for moderate Republicans and too far right for liberals.

And then that CNN poll that came out today...

Biden better not blow it, because a bunch of us are only on the train because Trump is an exception in how dangerous he is. If Biden can’t get the job done, expect a mass reckoning on the left

well, Biden and Kamala did both say they would provide government run health care to illegals, Kamala is on record as feeling "passionate" for Medicare for all, Joe wants to "build on Obamacare", both are on record as eliminating fracking completely and imposing more regulations on coal, oil etc.. Joe want Beto "Hell yes we'll take your guns" to oversee his gun policy, Both are on board for late term abortion, Joe is on record for massive tax increases to corporations, individuals, uppng the tax rate on capital gains and mandating a raise in the minimum wage. I get your all for these things and that's your right, but don't pretend Dems are about "governing" they're the party about ruling every aspect of your life.

Yes, they've done so well with the cities they've run for decades in seeing to the health and well being of the people there. Let's emulate that!

Could you please provide examples of Republican run states that provide healthcare to all their citizens?

Could you please provide me examples of Dem run cities that have provided adequate police protection to their population during these riots? I'll wait... Maybe include those that provide school choice to their poorest people to help them get out of poverty as well...

And what's wrong with providing health care to those that need it. I mean hell, any one here who is not an indigenous American is an immigrant, since were not from here. Should we not be healthy?

Joe wants to "build on Obamacare", both are on record as eliminating fracking completely and imposing more regulations on coal, oil etc..
And again, why is that bad? You need to eliminate oil and coal as our world is on fire. 117 degrees in SanFran. Canada's losing its ice. Ocean levels are rising. Cutting back on this is a good thing.

Joe want Beto "Hell yes we'll take your guns" to oversee his gun policy,
Again, why is this bad? Japan has been living for years without swords, why do we have to live with insane guns. Who really needs an AK 15.

Both are on board for late term abortion, Joe is on record for massive tax increases to corporations, individuals, uppng the tax rate on capital gains and mandating a raise in the minimum wage.
Prior to Reagan Corporate and individuals did just fine with their higher tax rates. And we need a raise on minimum wages as people who don't go into college may be taking care of their families on that. Hell rent has been driven up by speculation. How do you expect people to afford things if they are not being paid right.

I get your all for these things and that's your right, but don't pretend Dems are about "governing" they're the party about ruling every aspect of your life.
Regulations are not ruling. Regulations actually benefit people.
