Louisiana Republican wants to force people to submit a positive COVID test to vote by mail

According to the Daily Advertiser, Louisiana Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin is proposing a rollback of voter eligibility to cast an absentee ballot ahead of the November election.

“Ardoin’s new plan will only allow a COVID-19 exemption for someone who tests positive for the infection during and after early voting but before election day. That will fall under the existing ‘hospitalization’ excuse for an absentee ballot,” reported Greg Hilburn. “In the previous plan voters were able to get a COVID-19 absentee ballot if they were in self quarantine, had symptoms, were under an isolation order, were under higher risk with underlying conditions or were caretakers for others.”
The new rules will be dependent on someone being able to get a test and positive results within the time frame. It will also leave out vulnerable populations who are at high risk for complications from the virus but do not actually have it.

Excessive micromanagement is a pain in the butt. I mean, imagine actually living in that one GEICO commercial with the anal retentive neighbor? Then again, that is what life is like in, say, Singapore, in which they have decided that in exchange for personal freedoms, the government regulates practically everything.

But, not even wanting the bare minimum of standards?

Here we go, birther movement the sequel. Fasten your seat belts because this could get ugly. It looks like the Trump campaign is revving up that xenophobic engine, to rally the base.

With Ginsburg handing on by a thread, " build a wall" & "Anchor babies", fits in nicely with appointing another conservative supreme court judge who could re-interpret the 14th amendment.

The likelihood that this was purely error is almost zero.

Kim got the data she wanted so that she could push for reopening, and now it looks like they are fudging data to push for schools reopening.

I wish she could be held criminally negligent.

Trump's understanding of who Thanos was and why he wanted to be him was:

    1. Big muscles= obviously strong.
    2. Triggers lefties.

Or maybe he did realize it. Can Trump really be that stupid????

He really should spend more time with his youngest child.

School choice means you can go to whatever school you want...............

    1) if the school has SPACE for you. A neighborhood school must serve the kids in the neighborhood first. Magnet, same sex, academies and a few others don't have this rule apply to them.
    2) if you find your OWN way to the school
    3) IF they accept you. Acceptance is an OPTION as is KEEPING you there.

All schools are not equal. Because there are some class courses that vary from school to school.

School A has Baccalaureate (a program that one has to apply for to get funding).
    School B has no sports
School C does not serve SPECIAL EDUCATION kids (this is mainly CHARTER SCHOOLS)

Because certification for certain classes is an issue with teachers.
The 4 basic classes-English, Science, Math & History-someone like Peter Parker with general studies certification can teach those.
AP classes, Gym, Art and some others-Mr Terrific, Mr Fantastic, Bruce Banner, Thunderball, Dr Sampson and Beast better be on your roster. Or you can't offer those classes.

School choice boils down to this-It's let me take all the smart and athletic kids (who can behave) from bad schools and leave the WORST behind.

If all those kids go to new schools via school choice before Halloween (the date where funding for all schools are SET)-that money STAYS at that school even if the kid leaves after Halloween.

That is not going to help that old school get better with fewer kids. Few kids LESS funding from the state.

Seems like The Republicans have work to do.
Currently Nevada has a Democratic run government with control of both houses of the legislature and the governor's mansion. Although that is a very recent shift, since before the 2018 election we had a Republican governor and the legislature was split.

In the other column, Wisconsin has a Republican controlled legislature, and the governor's office only switched hands after the 2018 election as well.

Both those states should probably be shown in purple rather than a red or blue.

Susan B. Anthony was arrested for voting when women couldn’t. Now Trump will pardon her.

On the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, giving women the right to vote, this is a clear case of pandering by Trump, trying to suck up to women, including suburban housewives he tried to scare the wits out of just last week.

    So that senate report....

The info in this is expected but it is nice to see proof of a direct connection from Trump to Russia. The stuff about the criminal referral for Trump Jr., Bannon and Kushner is infuriating to hear at this late a date. Barr was just sitting on so much.

Seems like The Republicans have work to do.
According to WalletHub, which is what Fox Business used for the article, it's not until #14 where you find the first true Republican state, which is North Dakota, and even then, the metrics that WalletHub used are a bit sketchy, since that state was pretty low on the "safety meter"... whatever that meant.

So basically on FB people began spreading the Bill Clinton getting a neck massage from an Epstein victim attempt by Republicans. But FB has a politifact under it detailing exactly what happened. NICE TRY folks. But its fun to see this attempt .

And the real tragedy is that it will make no difference in the minds of the conservative voters.
    Trump says it's a hoax.
    Sean says it's a hoax.
    Rush says it's a hoax.
That's all they need to know.
    Fucking robots.

Not related: I've done some googling and haven't found reference to a Republican politician ever speaking at a Democratic convention. Has anyone ever heard of it? I have to admit my surprise at Kasich & company choosing to do so.
