I think that might be the plan.

It might actually do just that.

I am not sure how I feel about this.
This seems like a really stupid thing for her to say. It lessens the earlier unsuccessful impeachment, by making it look like Democrats are willing to do it for the wrong reasons, and allows Trump to claim that any efforts to go after him in the future are retaliation for him doing something that a President can legally do (appoint a justice to the Supreme Court.) It's also not the way to persuade Romney, Collins and Murkowski that Democrats have the moral high ground in this fight.
    Sincerely,

Hey, at least she didn't defend white nationalists. Guess that's for Trump and others to do.

So if the Democrats act with perfect morality and honor, maybe all the Republicans won't be completely corrupt and hypocritical?
    Yeah that's the ticket.

And it's somehow "not honorable" to make Trump even face a trial for a myriad of crimes he's committed.

It's only the Democrats who can't play politics.

Save yourselves some heartburn and accept that Trump is going to his nominee confirmed and placed on the high court. Even the Dems know it which is why their heads are exploding. Hearings begin before the election, voting takes place after. If Trump wins (he will) Collins votes for the nominee, even if she is beaten in her race. If she is beaten in her race, she still vote for them because she has nothing to lose and can (correctly) say that the whole process is supposed to decide one thing - is the nominee qualified for the position?

Trump is going to picked a qualified woman. that will make it hard for Murkowski or Collins or even RINO Mitt to vote against them. The Dems will have a harder time finding some nutjob claiming they were gang-raped by a woman....they still might though..

Relax, the way Roberts is going, it'll still be a 5-4 Conservative/Liberal split.

Nice victim blaming! Would you also like to justify McConnell completely going back on the precedent he said? I could use a good laugh.

Walmart, Amazon and other corporate giants donated money to the re-election campaign of a Tennessee state lawmaker who used social media to amplify and promote the QAnon conspiracy theory, according to a review of campaign finance records and the candidate’s posts.
QAnon centers on the baseless belief that Donald Trump is waging a secret campaign against enemies in the “deep state” and a child sex trafficking ring run by satanic pedophiles and cannibals. Trump has praised QAnon supporters and often retweets accounts that promote the conspiracy theory.

Corporate support for a QAnon-promoting politician is another example of how the conspiracy theory has penetrated mainstream politics, spreading beyond its origins on internet message boards popular with rightwing extremists.

Dozens of QAnon-promoting candidates have run for federal or state office in this election cycle. Collectively, they have raised millions from thousands of donors. Individually, however, most have run poorly financed campaigns with little or no corporate or party backing. Unlike state representative Susan Lynn, who chairs the Tennessee House finance committee, few are incumbents who can attract corporate money.

Though she repeatedly posted a well-known QAnon slogan on her Twitter and Facebook accounts, Lynn insisted she did not support the conspiracy theory.
Is it really much of a headline that Wal-Mart and Amazon are not the good guys?

They are going to dump as much money as they can into the "Democrat" and "Republican" sides of "Business As Usual..." politics.

Pelosi has hinted they could file impeachment to just slow it down so there is that. She has said there is a few options so McConnell keeps his word as he did in 2016. To me that is what is important here. If one side makes a promise and claims we have to wait til next President in an election year it can't suddenly change because your worried your golden god may end up losing.

For what McConnell knows Trump may win November so he could logically take his time. But the optics are playing bad right now. His rush to drop any work on aid for Americans in a stimulus to rush this through is beyond stupid. Democrats should be blasting him to take care of the key problem they have right now in America. Than worry about ungodly power grabs.

That would require Republicans to have any sense of shame. Or compassion. Or dignity.

All they have is lust for power and disdain for anyone not rich, white, ‘Christian’, and male. It’s quite clear that the GOP views everyone else as subhuman and beneath contempt.

Do you think Julie Swetnick's allegations about Brett Kavanaugh, as a high school student, habitually engineering gang rapes had merit?

If not, no one's blaming the victim.

That was not the only accusation

Never mind that you can have an accusation without merit and blame victims at the same time.
