Probably should have worded that a little differently before sending it out. But what do I know?
Here's the thing; voting "yes" on Proposition 16 will overturn California Proposition 209 from 1996, meaning you will have to factor in race, gender, and ethnicity when hiring people; thus encouraging racial diversity in public office. Proposition 209 was, like most California propositions, poorly worded and designed to confuse people, so it passed. And it was supported by Republicans (and David Duke).

    Here's Proposition 16: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_C...Proposition_16

Oh good lord. This is so dumb. Don’t put quotes on things no one ever said.

Hitler's speeches, from his earliest days up through the Phony War of 1939, reveal his extraordinary ability as a master propagandist," Marie Brenner wrote.

Hitler was one of history's most prolific orators, building a genocidal Nazi regime with speeches that bewitched audiences.

"He learned how to become a charismatic speaker, and people, for whatever reason, became enamored with him," Professor Bruce Loebs, who has taught a class called the Rhetoric of Hitler and Churchill for the past 46 years at Idaho State University, told Business Insider earlier this year.
I'm not saying he's a neo-Nazi himself but he sure does cater to the base of white supremacists and their ilk. He uses the Big Lie technique to hold sway over his base. Trump vilifies minorities "libtards", and anyone that is against him

So I think maybe I was the victim of attempted scam.

I was told that my ballot application was denied because my signature did not match. So i am doing early voting. I was going to go today but my father is sick and I can not. So I am going Monday. But today I got my ballot in the mail. I called my county Board of Elections and got through to them pretty quickly. The woman on the phone said she had no record of such a letter being sent to me and there were no problems with my application that is why I got a ballot. I asked her if I could still vote in person as this whole thing makes me nervous. She said of course and asked me to bring my unused ballot so the office could dispose of it to prevent attempted fraud. She also asked me to bring a copy of the letter I received so they could make a copy of it for their records.

I also want to note that she said I was not the only person who called about a letter like this that they Board did not send.

Oh man, that's dirty. Was it some kind of identity theft scam, were they trying to get you to give them information? Or do you just think they're trying to discourage people from voting?

I had that happen in 2012.

It was found my ballot was filled out and voted for a straight red ticket.

I got it fixed after the election and voted straight blue.

It was the straw that broke the camel's back for me about voting fraud because I was one of 1212 people in my county that was subjected "invalid signature" and the ballots were 1201 filled out straight ticket red and 11 that seemed to be legitimate sick people voting and signing their stuff horribly. The county did not press charges on the official that did it. We are a deep red county.

I've had to sign an affidavit after every vote since 2014 saying this is me on top of my normal signature and provide extra proof. This year will be the first year I don't have to do that. Something the state does not require but my county imposed.

The party that screams loudest about voting fraud is the one that is committing it the most. The Trump-led voting fraud commission when back in 2017 discovered no evidence of widespread voting fraud. In fact, the fraud they found predominantly favored the GOP and that 3 Trump family members and 7 people in the committee itself committed fraud and were registered at more than one address in more that one state. So they killed it.

They didnt ask for any information. Just let me know my ballot would not be coming. I think it was a try to keep people from voting. My landlord and my friend jay each got one as well. So whoever is doing it is not targeting anyone party. My landlord and I both are registered Republicans, And my friend Jay is a black man who is a Dem. It was really odd but the woman from the Board said they have gotten over 100 phone calls this about letter in the last two days. The state started mailing ballots on the 6th.

That is called voter intimidation and in some states it is legal to call and claim false balloting. I'd call your state's voting fraud commission or the AG to report it.

Unless you live in Ohio, Wisconsin, Missouri, or Alabama, where that is legal and they have no commission.

But I'd still report it to your state AG.

That's messed up. By pushing against this scam you're helping to expose it.

These are the posts you seem to be referring to. I think you're reading things into it that aren't there as he never said Trump was guaranteed to survive. He said it was likely, but that it was also too early to tell.

Sadly I do live in Ohio. I am going to do what the later at the Board said and bring in the letter so they can make a copy of it for their records. I am keeping the original because I am kind of paranoid that if I give it up that it will just be thrown away.

Thanks for the advice of reporting it to my AG. I never thought of that.

When was the last time NYC had a woman as Mayor? Checked it out, all previous mayors were men, and only one, David Dinkins, was Black.
New York City has never had a female mayor.

Part of it may be that there's been limited turnover. There have been eight mayors since 1954.

You could also consider reporting it to any local prosecutors, and bring it to the attention of the Biden campaign. They've got lawyers and PR people.

Thank you I will do both of these. And just to be fair I am going to report it to the Trump campaign as well. it will be fun to see what their reaction will be anyway.
