I can imagine Kasich getting some kind of reward for his endorsement of Biden and the Lincoln Project Republicans getting some kudos if Biden wins, yeah. Obama talked about appointing Republicans to his cabinet too in his run up in 2008, and in the end Robert Gates, Dubya's Sec. of Defense continued on under Obama. Obama also nominated Chuck Hagel for CIA chief but that position didn't get confirmed by Senate.

Former President Obama's calls on deportation and The Patriot Act were not at some "That's Fine..." default position just because he was a Democratic President.

Lots of instances where folks have pointed to how "Progressive..." a Biden Presidency could be.

Meanwhile, I'm seeing what looks a lot like the guy's crew feeling out Republicans for potential cabinet positions while I haven't seen the same about anyone "Elizabeth Warren..." or left of there.

While anything could happen, it's not like that isn't noteworthy.

Good point, but what is the official policy when people come into this thread just to stir crap up? Even the current situation aside it's been happening since 2016. And if Donny wins you can bet people will show up just to gloat. Even when posting here is something they simply never do otherwise.

That's great and all but like you are so fond of pointing out about Biden or Obama's policies the reality is somewhere short of that. While I didn't like the board wipe I understood why it happened. And when real people are dying out there and will continue to die and people show up acting like that's a good thing because their tribe won...

Personally the only real solution(if you could call it that) is regardless of the outcome the politics thread is canned election night and for two weeks after so people can stop screaming at the heaven's. Because with the stakes as they are this place will become a moderation burden otherwise.

I don't see how Trump wins Pennsylvania (and I have him retaining the Presidency), but the others are a good bet.

There's not a single poll that has Trump in the lead in Arizona.

In fact, most polls have Biden's lead outside the margin of error, and only one recent poll has had Trump within a point. Even if you give Trump Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Iowa and Arizona, hje only gets to 258 electoral votes.

It really should just be the popular vote. I mean, why is it not the majority of americans who get to decide who their president is? It's absurd and it has cost us dearly several times.

Just because we now look back fondly on the "quiet dignity" of Dubya, doesn't mean he was a good president who didn't win a stolen election.

If republicans want to win, maybe they should run on policies that appeal to more voters! And if you can't win that way, maybe your politics are outmoded. What a fucking wild idea!

While we're at it, lets do away with gerrymandering districts. Just cut that shit out completely.

I just don't think people grasp how narrow a win Trump got in 2016 and how unlikely a repeat of that is. It COULD happen. There are some alarming signs in voter registration, for example, but I 2018's elections don't bode well for Trump's chances in 2020. There's a reason they're ramming Barret on the court and that's Bush V Gore 2.0.

I should also add that it's necessary for Trump to run the table of *every* toss up *and* flip either Pennsylvania or Michigan AND Wisconsin. It's, again, possible, but...

Outside of the numbers folks are looking at and 2018 results, it is also worth noting that no one stands a better chance of stopping Trump from winning a second term than Donald Trump.

Trump won Pennsylvania by less than one percent in 2016. Fast forward four years, last time I checked, he was trailing Biden by five percent, his only chance to win the state is through Republican chicanery and voter suppression. Meanwhile, Barack Obama will be in Philly tonight to stump for Biden.
