Went with the original animated series.
Although I also really like .6 and the Young Justice

    Really great illustrations.
    Was that you!?
    Any link to the artist?

I don't know the artist-- I found these on ComicVine. Maybe another user knows.

the OG costume with the coat (option 2) is the perfect Static costume to me.

just feels iconic, magical, and grounded all at the same time! the suit + mask combo are simplistic, sleek, and
nicely streamlined, while the big coat acts like a cape giving him that classic superhero feel but more magical like a wizard's robe, and the snap back gives him that hint of youthful realness to show he's just a young adult like the readers; it's a perfect costume!

THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki

also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.

    currently following:
    • DC: Red Hood: The Hill
    • Marvel: TBD
    • Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force

You just made me miss Static with this description. Man how I wish DC would either use him or make a character like him.

I went with option 4 but option 2 is nice

I voted for 4 - almost went with 2 because there's something special about the cap/coat look, but I really like the electricity symbol they came up for him later - it's just much more "superhero-y."

It's not up to DC, Milestone actually has to put something together for DC to publish.
There is some movement to put something out there, as we have seen art work.
Thing is (beside Milestone's own internal lawsuit schism which I believe delayed moving forward, I think is now resolved) as I understand it (maybe somone can explain it beter, how it works) Milestone have a licencing contract, where they get payed weather they produce any content or not. So most of the owners just work on other (outside) projects, sense they get payed either-way by DC.

This I hope never happens, DC already has Jeferson Pierce and the Lightning family franchise which predate Vergil.
Any closer and it'd be encroachment.

With all due respect it wasn't until fairly recently that Black Lightning started getting a push. The whole reason he wasn't in super friends or JLU, and even the Static Shock show was because of licensing

Who suggested he hasn't gotten a recent push?

I have to agree, plus 4 feels like something a teen could make whilst 2 has the full bodysuit problem at least imo

Option 1. Option 2 is the same outfit with slightly different accessories.
This is a rare “looking like something a teen could make” exception, I cite the Peter Parker precedent as my defense.

But there’s always the happy medium...
