Default Several Titles will be shifting over to Digital Only starting May 13th

Thought about posting this in the corona virus thread, but figured it deserves a thread of it's own.

Marvel just announced that some of their titles will be moving over to being Digital only.

    Wednesday, May 13:
    • ANT-MAN #4
    • AVENGERS OF THE WASTELANDS #4
    • GHOST-SPIDER #9
    • RAVENCROFT #4

    Wednesday, May 20:
    • 2020 IRONHEART #1
    • MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN: THE BLACK CAT STRIKES #4
    • HAWKEYE: FREEFALL #5
    • STAR #4

Surprised that books like Ms. Marvel, Champions and Runaways also didn't get pushed in this direction.

are these all low selling titles? Could be why they are releasing them like this. They know not much profit would be made in this economy even if they got released in print.

All of them are mini series except for Ghost Spider, which has been selling in the teens. Though given how we heard that some of Marvel's creatives got furloughed, I wouldn't be surprised if Ghost-Spider gets axed at like issue #12.

Nope. This is two weeks of digital titles. The press release states that they'll only be available physically in trade.

I had a feeling they were going to do this. The only one on that list I read is Ghost Spider. It stinks that it is going digital only.

Hey, I posted about this in the coronavirus thread. Oops!

In any case, this is not a good look. No matter how low selling these books are, they have to know retailers and customers didn't want this. At least DC is doing digital first original series, not currently ongoing series or miniseries in the middle of their story. This seems incredibly shortsighted on Marvel's part.

I'm all about digital only (I only read digital unless I want to buried with a series I love in my sarcophagus); but they should have finished the already in progress series in print.

That will most definitely leave a bad taste in reader's mouths when it comes to digital comics.

    Wrong move on Marvel's part

    THIS.....

A new series like Warriors fine.

Not books with 1-2 issues left.

I was reading Avengers Wasteland and I think I did final order cutoff with issue 3 or 4.

I bet some stores are going to have to refund some money.
