Default Thanos joins the good side!

Thanos gets fed up trying to court Death.
He knows he is destined for greatness but keeps failing!
He decides to fight for justice!
To begin his training he joins the Avengers after being given menial task to test his resolve and if he is scheming.
Who would dare to attack Earth now?
How many of Earth's villains give up? How many see the error of their ways and join the fight for justice?
Could Thanos' influence spread across the stars, reducing villainy to almost zero?

A few retire out of fear, but the bigger ones will likely just lay low and prep, on the grounds that anyone who trusts Thanos even an inch is a damn fool.

Why would they be afraid of Avenger Thanos?
He's not going to do aything worse to them than other Avengers if he wants to stay an Avenger.

And if he's going to go on a killing spree though Earth's supervillains it's going to take him three days at most before he falls off the wagon and head over heels in love with Death again.

I'm guessing like the Juggernaut, when he goes Good he suddenly gets under contract with NERF.
The MunchKING is Back! And he is AWSOME!

This always happens. Avenger Thanos will suddenly have his strength reduced to Thing Levels and his mind replaced with hulks/

    "Tea for you, Master Thanos?"
"No, thank you, earthling servant. Now help me widen this door so I can fit my floating throne into the conference room."

Earth's heroes would try to keep in touch via Facebook, as there would be few real intergalactic threats knocking in Earth's door to warrant many company-wide crossovers. Earth-bound villians would still try their luck, though.

Be nothing new. Thanos seems to spend as much time saving the universe as trying to conquer it.

It quickly becomes the most over the top/ego-driven "I'm better than you" contest the 616 universe has ever seen.
