So three thoughts:

1. I wouldn't be surprised if, somehow, some way Shang-Chi somehow sensed Jamie Prime, but Jamie has an empathic bond with his dupes. Sometimes he can feel their deaths, though I don't know how consistently that's been written.

2. I suspect the inspiration for this thread was Shang-Chi gaining the power to create dupes of himself, during Time Runs Out. I don't know if this power faded (I don't read enough of the current stuff to know), but it seemed that if his dupes were hurt, they were hurt independently and Shang Prime wouldn't feel it.

3. There's no known limit to how many dupes either Jamie or Shang can make (every time bad guys assume they reach Jamie's limit, he keeps adding more; and Shang-Chi never tried to test his limit). Also, no one will ever argue that Jamie's as good a fighter as Shang, but thanks to absorbing his dupes' knowledge whenever he reabsorbs them, Jamie's gained his dupes' fighting skills. He would send them out to dedicate their lives to a martial art, come back after several years, and then Jamie would absorb them, thus gaining their skillset.

Madrox buries himself? He probably could, but it's not exactly a viable win against Shang. :-)
