    Default Your team of forgotten X-Men

    There are those characters that were as member of the X-Men (or satelite serie) for just a very short time, like Hepzibah, Slipstream, Gosamyr, Paradigm, Neal Shaara, Korvus, Pulse, Changeling, Mimic, Bedlam, Maggot and those kids who were never part of New/Young X-men, like Trance, Match, Indra, Ziggy Karst, Scorpion Boy Rico.

    Now if you had to write a series of these underestiated, underused X-Men, what woyuld your team look like and what would be their theme (black-ops, media team, rebels, heroes-turned-villains, x-corps)?

    Lets be creative!

    Bedlam already has a backstory as a member of Xavier’s Mutant Underground.

    I say, use that.

    EXiles: A group of young mutants that don't want to live on Krakoa for different reasons. Some don't like the Council, some have too tight bonds with their families to leave. The issue is that with their mutant heroes away from the country, they are left extremely vulnerable to dangerous foes of mutantkind. After the death of one of them, the Quiet Council decides to send one of their own to build a team of mutants that don't want to live on Krakoa but are willing to protect their own anyway. Some of them accept reluctantly, mostly to gain protection for their families, while others decide to

    Team Leaders: Bedlam and Lifeguard. He has little ties to everyone on Krakoa, so he decides to help the Council with this mission of protecting mutants on land. The Council tasks him with finding who's killing mutants who do not want to go to Krakoa. Lifeguard is sent alongside him with the secret mission of helping recruit the rescued mutants, evne if Bedlam doesn't know about it. Her danger sense will be useful in finding mutants in need of help.

    Team Members:

    • Kiden Nixon: the first mutant to be recruited, since the gruesome death of her friend Tatiana Caban was what had brought the Council to create this team. She's reluctant, but she also wants to find out who killed Catiana to avenge her;
    • Marrow: representative of the Morlocks, who live on land and are thus scared of the mutant killing that is going on and ask the Council to send one of their own alongisde Bedlam. She doesn't like Krakoa much like all the other Morlocks, and she's vocal about it;
    • Klara Prast: the young mutant had finally found peace in her foster home and she doesn't want to leave it for Krakoa. Now a teen who doesn't want to have anything to do with heroes, she's forced to go to Bedlam after she's attacked by the same people who killed Catiana, but she's able to escape unlike the other young mutant;
    • Wiz-Kid: now working for Tony Stark and equipped with an hi-tech armor similar to Iron-Man's, Wiz-Kid contacts Bedlam as soon as he arrives on land, wanting to help find whomever is hunting mutants outside of Krakoa;
    • DJ: one of the victims of the Striker bus accident, brought back to life by The Five but still to traumatized by the event. He decides to leave the island with Bedlam because he still can't stand to be on Krakoa. He's got supercool powers too;
    • Transonic: a reluctant Krakoan, since her days with the Lights she never really trusted Hope, and she spends more time at home in Canada with her family than on the Island. She gets attacked too, and she's actually the first one to be rescued by Bedlam and his team, joining them in the end. Her powers get developed greatly here;

    Recurring Cast:
    • Bobby Soul and Lil Bro: brothers and friends of Kiden, they don't want to be publicly associated with Krakoa for fear of being targeted, but they don't want to leave for the island either. At first recurring cast in the form of much needed telepathic help, they later join the cast full-time.
    • Skids: working with SHIELD, she's investigating too but her agenda clashes with Bedlam's, since she wants to hand the killers to the authorities she works for, instead of giving them to Krakoa.
    • Avalance: he still lives in San Francisco and he still has his bar there, but with a Krakoan portal inside. He's a good guy and he wants to help, but the enemies of Krakoa will target him too.
    • Slipstream: he's not on Krakoa, and his sister doesn't understand why. She'll try to have him join the team and Krakoa later.
    • The Quiet Council: they create this team, even though their main goal is to have them and the mutants they rescue join Krakoa, using Lifeguard as their recruiter.

    Villains: Sublime and his U-men. Using the Order of X as pawns, they are kidnapping mutants or killing them to take DNA, blood or organs, targetting the vulnerable mutants that aren't on Krakoa yet. They killed Catiana for her blood, since its reactive properties allow them to make drugs able to replicate mutant powers. Sublime is using Lobo and his men to hunt down mutants. Christopher Aaronson, Bedlam's brother, is secretly working with them to gain his powers back, since he doesn't want to ask Krakoa for help or take the Crucible.

    I really, honestly love this concept and plot! It makes so much sense.

    Glob Herman is forgotten? I can barely find an X-Book without him showing up.
    I was trying to do too much and not doing any of it as well as I could. But I've had a change of mind... though not everyone shall enjoy it. I will.

    Doesn’t matter in the least.

    We don’t work for Marvel.

    Aw thank you! I hoped that the New Mutants filler issues with Beak and Angel Salvadore dealt with this kind of stuff and indecision about going to Krakoa, but it was a big let down. I want to see different perspectives on this thing.

    Let’s call the team... I dunno... the Extremophiles.

    Random was always an underused favorite of mine. I think he’s the 90’s style hero we need today.
    I had the Killspree action figure as a kid, and his design was cool as hell yet nothing was ever done with him in the comics.
    Slayback has an awesome look and powerset, he could fulfill the reforming villain role.
    Nocturne, the alternate reality female Nightcrawler and amateur sorcerer.
    Jimmy Hudson, ultimate wolverine. One of the promising post-Ultimatum replacement characters.

    The Dark Riders are like the mutant Thunderbolts, but instead of villains posing as heroes we have mutants posing as 'mutates', cyborgs, magic-users, and humans to secretly help rescue fellow mutants and provide intel to Krakoa. However, living amongst humans while Krakoa thrives begins to complicate their views, potentially compromising their mission.

    Cast:
    Tempo (probably posed as a magic-user of some kind)
    Bedlam (God of Disruption)
    Risque (fell in a vat of goo)
    El Aguila (amulet powered being)
    Miguela Tores (a 'regular human')
    Slick (posed as a Skrull)
    Hexadecimal (posing as a cyborg or robot)
    Litterbug (pretending to be a man in a suit)

    Can I say I love your graphics for the team making stuff? I saw the other one you posted in pitch your book thread, and I forgot to comment there.

    Magi-X

    Despite A's plot to control mutant magic on Krakoa and utilize it for his own ends. The unexpected has occurred. 5 mutants are developing mutant magical abilities independent of his machinations. Scanner- Former acolyte who was never truly a villain.Scanner served Magneto and Exodus as best she could with her bio electrical transitional state. Since regaining her mutant abilities she has developing into a mutant magical power house cable of harnessing extremely high levels of magical energy. ( Magical energy manipulation,Offensive magic, element fire)

    Support roles: Exodus-a thorn in the side of both Sinister and Apocalypse. He has is own agenda as he helps these mutants harness their new abilities.He takes a special interest in Hack. Tarot- She has always been sensitive to magic. She has her own long term b side plot.She forms an unexpected friendship with Scanner. Forge-Techno mystic goes back to basics as he becomes a mentor to this group of young mutants. Magik-attitude and bangs. Quiet Council. Selene-is shadowing Decay. Is extremely weary of her.
