The closest I can think of is from "Mirror Mirror," which explicitly had Kirk replacing Pike. However, as that was in the Mirror Universe, it falls under the heading of "not necessarily."

I rewatched the series again over the weekend. Nurse Chapel is 1000% better than the original Nurse Chapel. La'an is the character than develops best over the course of the season. I enjoyed Spock's interactions with T'Pring and want more of them.

When is Emperor Georgiou going to get beamed in by the Guardian of Forever? It sent her to somewhere she could survive, the SNW time frame makes sense. She would have been a better choice for an antagonist than Angel.

Among other things I liked, I wished Mount had kept that hair cut all through the first season.

The first ten episodes were better than the first ten episodes of Next Gen or DS9, better than the last two seasons of Discovery, and better than any ten episodes of Enterprise.

I actually liked Discovery sn4, despite some few issues.

Personally, I think that while Shatner might be right, he is drawing the wrong conclusions. Roddenberry was known to have despised Wrath of Khan, actively leaking set spoilers in order to turn fans against it. He was, ironically, a futurist who became stuck in the past.
