Is McKinney's Nubia story meant to be connected to her standalone GN coming out?
Is McKinney's Nubia story meant to be connected to her standalone GN coming out?
Maybe thematically but I'm fairly certain they'll be in different continuities based off the descriptions, plus the GN is firmly part of the YA OGN line.
Future State:
Nubia Real One:Then, peer into a closer future as the original champion of Themyscira strikes out on her own. Things have not been stable on Paradise Island for some time, and Nubia has found a new home in Man's World. Now, she is tasked with protecting it from the dangers of the world of myths and magic. The writer of DC's Nubia: Real One, L.L. McKinney, takes this powerful Amazon to a whole new level.
Can you be a hero…if society doesn’t see you as a person?
Nubia has always been a little bit…different. As a baby she showcased Amazonian strength by pushing over a tree to rescue her neighbor’s cat. But, despite Nubia’s similar abilities, the world has no problem telling her that she’s no Wonder Woman. And even if she was, they wouldn’t want her. Every time she comes to the rescue, she's reminded of how people see her: as a threat. Her moms do their best to keep her safe, but Nubia can’t deny the fire within her, even if she’s a little awkward about it sometimes. Even if it means people assume the worst.
When Nubia’s best friend, Quisha, is threatened by a boy who thinks he owns the town, Nubia will risk it all––her safety, her home, and her crush on that cute kid in English class––to become the hero society tells her she isn’t.

Author L. L. McKinney (Nubia: Real One, A Blade So Black) and Alitha Martinez (Represent) have revealed the first look at Nubia, who will appear in their Future State: Immortal Wonder Woman story.

"So many @DCComics fans have been waiting for this one, so let’s. GO! Daughter of Hippolyta. Sister to Diana. Princess of the Amazons. And now? Wonder Woman," McKinney wrote on Twitter. "Nubia as who she was in all her original glory. Y’all know I HAD to bring our girl to the main stage."
Martinez's tweet was a simple, "Finally!"

She looks so wonderful! I can’t wait to get my hands on this!
Is she going to be written by a black woman?
The Gypsies had no home. The Doors had no bass.
Does our reality determine our fiction or does our fiction determine our reality?
Whenever the question comes up about who some mysterious person is or who is behind something the answer will always be Frank Stallone.
"This isn't a locking the barn doors after the horses ran way situation this is a burn the barn down after the horses ran away situation."
I hope we learn where Nubia has been and that she sticks around after these issues!
She makes an Amazing WW!

I think her new uniform is very similar with this.
Sooooooooo many possibilities with Nubia making a comeback I could see her being the Mother of Bobby barnes who could finally become Wonder Boy.
