Even though DC is standing for "Detective Comics" again, I think this isn't the case. I imagine Gail simply took the opportunity to write Oracle again.

But yeah, shouldn't be the first issue.

So nice and refreshing to see Barbara as Oracle again!

Now, this issue hasn't turned me into a Wonder Woman fan, but I am interested in this book. The price, length, continuity-free and anthology format is very appealing to me as someone who's curious about Wonder Woman but not necessarily a fan. I'd rather pick up a short, 99-cent digital Wonder Woman story a couple of times a month than dive into the New 52 Wonder Woman (especially when her relationship with Clark is a huge turn-off for this Lois Lane fan).

BTW, is there a creator schedule for this series yet?
anything try the Azz run on WW, for sure it won't upset you that just like me is a Lois fan too. And it is ending so it's the perfect to catch up if you aren't already reading

The good news, we'll have a new story every week that isn't in anyway tied to any given continuity. A bad issue just vanishes.

Sounds like I made the right choice in deciding to wait for the next issue. I know Simone is a big Oracle fangirl so I get her presence, but what I don't understand is all the rest of the Bat-wank.

    I didn't really like it.

But OMG, Philippus! God, finally. I couldn't handle WW for much longer without her.

I'm disappointed: the inner monologues were rather poor and the art was subpar. I liked the Io reference, though.

    DC published this list:
CHAPTER #3: AMANDA DEIBERT AND CAT STAGGS (8/27)
CHAPTER #4: JASON BISCHOFF AND DAVID WILLIAMS (9/3)
    CHAPTERS #5 & #6: IVAN COHEN AND MARCUS TO (9/10 & 9/17)

And we know there'll be Sean E. Williams/Marguerite Sauvage and Gilbert Hernandez as well.
Thanks. I haven't heard of any of those creators other than Marcos To and Gilbert Hernandez.

To appeal to non-WW fans? I admit Oracle was the big draw for me here, not Diana (sorry!).

I actually did try it out and I wasn't a big fan. It felt like a Vertigo version of Wonder Woman. It's not the kind of Wonder Woman series you could give to a six-year-old girl. But I have high hopes for Grant Morrison's Wonder Woman graphic novel. I also plan on checking out William Moulton Marston's stuff because it sounds like just the right amount of weirdness.

Unfortunately, I'm just not that into mythology-based characters like Wonder Woman or Thor or Loki.

I'm pretty sure Morrison's WW isn't going to be appropriate for a six year old girl either, just as a head's up. He's gone on record many times saying he's heavily integrating the original sexual and BDSM themes of Marston's run.

That's okay because Morrison's story isn't the main WW book.

Sure, Diana can get the criminals off the streets, but patrolling Gotham is a full time gig. Is Diana going to leave every other duty to did it? Obviously not, and this will be a learning curve for her as much as the criminals.

And the Wonder-rangs are just wackily whimsical

And beside, IO made them, and that is reason enough right there to have them in the story.
If ten years of recording The Young and the Restless for my mother have taught me anything, it's that characters in serial dramas are always happily in love...until they're not
