Songs (my choices are based on what I like rather than how well they might fit a Bond film).

    1. A View to a Kill - Duran Duran. One of the best songs by one of my all time favorite bands.
    2. The World is Not Enough - Garbage. Strictly middle of the pack for Garbage songs but I love Garbage so that elevates it here.
    3. Live and Let Die - Paul McCartney - Great riff
    4. All Time High - Rita Coolidge. Pure Soft FM schlock song but for my tastes every song
    5. Nobody Does it Better - Carly Simon. Ditto.

    Movies:

    1. Casino Royale

And its been too long since I've seen most of them to accurately rate after this though I'm sure I'd put Skyfall last as that movie was so insulting to my intelligence. The villains master escape plan depends on it being time with the train schedule yet it also depends on one of the people activating his device, something he has no control over. Thus there is no actual way to coordinate these two. Then the end where Bond has one job which is to protect M and he screws it up as badly as one can possibly screw it up by going off on his own and then getting her killed yet he gets promoted for it? WHAT?

I haven't watched most of the older films. Even some newer ones. So, from my limited choices i have come up with this.

    Films:
    1. Casino Royale
    2. Skyfall
    3. Goldeneye
    4. Tomorrow Never Dies

I can have a top 5 as i have seen more. But that would imply i have really enjoyed those films.

    Songs
    1. You know my name (Casino Royale)
    2. Skyfall
    3. World is Not Enough
    4. Writing's on The Wall (Spectre)
    5. Live and Let Die

Two of my favorite songs are from my two favorite films. I have ranked them as 1 and 2, but it changes. For me, sometimes there is a connection between enjoyment of a film and the song. If a theme is good and is in a movie which is great, it increases my enjoyment for the song a bit more. Lily's theme from Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows Pt 2 is a piece of music i love to no end, but no one remembers that piece of music. In some ways both the songs of Skyfall and Casino Royale feel connected to the spirit or mood of the respective films.

That's not always the case. A song can be great in itself and does not need a connection for me. I think i have watched about half of World is Not Enough. But i love the song almost as much as my top two. Live and Let Die is a film i haven't seen. But i really like the song.

I don't think Bond gets promoted at all, he just gets "back to work".

    As for Me, film-wise:

    1)Casino Royale
    2)Thunderball
    3) The Living Daylights
    4) For Your Eyes Only
    5) The Spy Who Loved Me

    "TOP 5" BOND FILMS
    1. From Russia With Love (1963)
    2. Skyfall (2012)
    3. You Only Live Twice (1967)
    4. Goldeneye (1995)
    5. the Spy Who Loved Me (1977)

    "TOP 5" BOND SONGS
    1. "Goldfinger" performed by Dame Shirley Bassey
    2. "Goldeneye" performed by Tina Turner
    3. "Diamonds Are Forever" performed by Dame Shirley Bassey
    4. "Skyfall" performed by Adele
    5. "the Man With the Golden Gun" performed by Lulu

I actually found picking the songs harder, I LOVE the Bond songs, it's actually easier to list the worst five, than the best. It's such a great collection of songs, all of them have their own merit... okay, "All Time High" is rubbish, but other than that I do think a true Bond song should be a diva singing it, and if I had the power, I'd get Shirley Bassey to the next one. One last time.

I'm not noticing a specific correlation; merely a coincidence.

    Top Five Bond Themes:
    A View To A Kill
    The Living Daylights
    Live and Let Die
    Goldfinger
    License To Kill

I’m a big Bond Fan and like every movie in the series. Since their tones and the actors who played Bond are so very different
Ive always found it impossible to pick “the best”. Instead when asked, I usually give my favorite of each actor:
Connery: You Only Live Twice—yes despite the terrible attempt to disguise Bond as an Asian
Lazenby: On her Majesty’s Secret Service. Not like there is a choice—But I really think he did a great job in this role, and its the most we’ve ever seen Bond emotionally involved—and that includes Casino Royale
Moore: Moonraker Yeah, I know, “worse of the series” “most unbelievable”. Yadda Yadda. I still love the outlandish plot and SFX
Dalton: License to Kill. Among the most violent of the Bond films, but also among the best plotted. Dalton really was the closest to Flemings version, IMO
Brosnan: Goldeneye. Some ridiculous characters but solid action and Brosnan made the role his with this film. Plus the video game
Craig: Casino Royale. Gritty, emotional, and a good retelling of the book. The Bourneification of the character came after I think

Since, the last time i posted i have heard all the songs all over again. Something which i hadn't done then. I still haven't watched the entire series. I have since modified my list. Honestly speaking there are only two songs which i dislike: Die Another Day and the one with Quantum of Solace.

    1. 'You Know My Name' from Casino Royale
    2. 'Skyfall'
    3. 'World is Not Enough'
    4. 'Goldeneye''
    5. 'A View To a Kill'
    6. 'Live and Let Die'
    7. 'For Your Eyes Only'
    8. 'Tomorrow Never Dies'
    9. 'Thunderball'
    10. 'You Only Live Twice'

I think i can make even a longer list. I notice that Shirley Bassey is missing. I would even like to make place for the Spectre song by Radiohead. Apparently it was rejected by the producers in favor of Sam Smith. Somebody added the song to the opening credits at Youtube.

Somehow, i have gotten bored by Sam Smith's song. Its good. But i am enjoying other songs more. Part of me wishes that they should have gone with Radiohead. I like Sam's song more for the instrumentals (is it what its called).

Favorite films would have to be Skyfall and Goldeneye. Hard to judge beyond that.

    Best songs.

Skyfall, You know my name, Nobody does it better, Live and let die, and I think No time to die is currently one of my favorites.

Everyone is sleeping on the original Bond theme from Dr. No, including me.

Which is worst though - Jack White, Sam Smith, or Madonna?
