Default Nik Hasta's Friday Afternoon Scenario Storytime Spectacular

The sun is bright, the wind is pleasant and we're almost all locked in our houses so I'm procrastinating from my work to make some dumb scenarios.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    1) Creed and Logan Steal a Baby

Location: New York City, The Bronx.

    Participants: Wolverine and Sabretooth

Setup: Sabretooth and Wolverine have, due to circumstances too complex to get into, have stolen a baby. They now need to make it from the northernmost point of the Bronx, to Philadelphia City Hall with said baby alive and well. They will be pursued by the following:

    - The Forces of the Foot Clan (Rise of the TMNT)
    - A T-800 Terminator (Terminator)
    - Kraven the Hunter (Marvel comics)
    - Flandral of the Warriors Three (Marvel comics)
    - Hermione Granger (Harry Potter franchise)
    - David Cain (Post Crisis)

The pursuers will begin from the Brooklyn Bridge and Logan and Creed have a five minute head start. The pursuers are not necessarily aligned, they are all working towards the goal but they are suitably incentivised to want to try and claim the baby as their win. To successfully secure the baby, they have to retrieve it from Logan and Creed and take it to the top of the Empire State Building.

The baby cannot be willingly harmed but all sides are trying their best not put it in danger.

Can the feral mutant duo dodge the baby hunters?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    2) Hold Back The Horde!

Location: Sodden Hill (The castle from the final battle in The Witcher (Netflix Season 1))

    Participants:

    - Katsuki Bakugou (My Hero Academia)
    - Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games)
    - Queen Glimmer (Netflix She-Ra)
    - Julia Dragoon (Groove Adventure Rave)
    - Elsa Bloodstone (Marvel comics)
    - Prince Zuko (Avatar: the Last Airbender)
    - Alphonse Elric (Full Metal Alchemist)
    - Kyoukai (Kingdom)
    - Kamado Tanjiro (Kimetsu no Yaiba)
    - Hibachi (Joujuu Senjin! Mushibugyou)
    - Triquel (Red Storm)

This team is given a detachment of 1000 well trained soldiers armed with medieval gear (armour, weaponry, bows, etc) enough supplies to feed all of them for a week and basic weaponry.

All members of the team have whatever passes for their standard load out.

Setup: This team have to hold the castle against an army of the following composition within its rank and file. They have to hold it for five days and nights. They have all their displayed units but no named specialist officers/characters.

    - The orcish hordes from Isengard and Minas Tirith (Lord of the Rings)
    - The Persian horde (300)
    - The Coalition Army (Kingdom)
    - The military forces of Ashina (Sekiro)

The army has no fixed leader but each detachment is well versed and keen to deploy their own tactics. Assume that they are willing to work together forv the most part.

The defending team get 48 hours of prep and then 24 hours rest before the battle commences. The opposing army will use that 24 hour period to survey the area but may not take an action or prep beyond strategy.

Win Conditions: The opposing army is destroyed/routed or the castle holds for five days and nights.

Lose Conditions: The castle is reduced to rubble or the entire place is overrun or all members of the defending team are wiped out.

Can they hold back the horde?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    3) Presidential(?) Debate(?)

Location: A composite city made up of elements from DC/Marvel New York, Avatar's Republic City, real world London and Ankh Morpork.

    Participants:

    - Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty)
    - The Doctor (Doctor Who)
    - Azula (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
    - Wilson Fisk (Marvel comics)
    - Bruce Wayne (DC Comics)
    - Senator Armstrong (Metal Gear Rising)

Setup: There will be three debates to decide who will be President/Mayor/Patrician/Firelord/King of the composite city. After each debate there will be one week of campaigning - each candidate will be given an equal support team and a strict budget which they may not exceed. This is about their ability to market themselves, put a message across and what tactics they choose to employ.

After three rounds of debates, the city goes to the polls.

    Who wins this election?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    What do you all think?

    Scenario 1:

There’s no way. Unfortunately, despite the impressive skillz that killz the feral duo have, I find it hard to believe that with all the versatile things Granger can do with Potterverse magic that she can’t take this with a few minutes worth of planning.

The rest...yeah, I’d lay odds on the mutant duo. But nothing stops Hermione from using a locating spell and then aparating nearby, transmuting the duo, and silently teleporting back out with said baby.

    Scenario 2:

Yes, yes they can hold out. Just going with Alphonse and 48 hours of prep is terrifying. We’ve seen massive walls of stone being brought up by Ed and others in seconds, imagine what Al can do with two days?

And that’s just him by himself. Some of the team isn’t exactly light weights.

    Scenario 3:

    Okay, this is interesting.

Rick won’t win. He’s too blunt. Presuming he can’t Science the polls in his favor, the truth is while his tech would change everyone’s life, he’s simply not like able enough to win.

The Doctor.....will do better, but this might depend on which version. 10 methinks would do quite well.

Azula......can act really well, and can be compelling, but no way she doesn’t crack in three weeks of hand waving, baby kissing, and lobbying against the others.

Bruce....depends entirely and which version. BTAS Bruce actually had a friendly persona and public image that was well liked. Comic Bruce....ehh, not so much most of the time.

Honestly, unless you get the better versions of Bruce around, I would imagine it’s either Fisk or Armstrong for the win. Fisk because he knows how to wheel and deal, and Armstrong because who’s job was being a politician. A good Bruce could have a shot though.

I’d back Armstrong most likely to win after three weeks. Unless people can dig up dirt and the like on their opponents or use money/powers/science to buy votes.

In scenario 1, I'm assuming that it would break the spirit of the thread for Logan to just call Nightcrawler or Magik and ask for a quick transport to Philly?

Yes, the only they can get is from bystanders that they encounter.

I mean, if they're in Marvel NYC that could be range from J. Jonah Jameson to Galactus.

I don't recall Hermione displaying scrying or tracking magic offhand, citation?

Also, if she aparates in nearby, both Logan and Creed will smell her coming and transmutation does require line of sight.

The armies they are encountering do get 24 hours to survey his defences, if not test them, and multiple sides in the overall opposition have explosives. Big walls aren't necessarily the be all and end all. Also, the geography of Sodden Hill doesn't leave him with a colossal amount of space to work with.

I’d back Armstrong most likely to win after three weeks. Unless people can dig up dirt and the like on their opponents or use money/powers/science to buy votes.
Of all the people to get first nod in the political race, I wouldn't have pictured it being Armstrong.

For the purposes of the thread, it's a normal NYC. No pre-existing connections or other fictional characters beyond what the scenario dictates. :P

Sorry, was thinking Dresdenverse not Potterverse for tracking spells.

Though with 200 Hand Ninjas, Kraven, and a host of others rampaging around hunting the duo (who are chaotic enough themselves), I would imagine a clever Hermione could easy find or follow enough to still win.

Just imagining long range spells from afar, transmuting or stunning. Would be funny to see one of them carrying the kid only for said baby to transmute into a rhino.

Though looking again at the list Kraven might actually win too. His senses and tracking skills are top notch and I’m not certain the duo could get around him.

Sabertooth has a jetpack, right? How else can he be involved in an obvious Logan troll. He just flies there for the win.
