This is why I wanted all the QC members to have their own X-Men team.

Xavier would’ve had Dazzler Form a band as a cultural export. Storm would’ve formed a disaster relief squad. Magneto and Cyclops would turn the New Mutants into a national guard.

I like that idea. I thought of each season if you will so the 4 seasons on the council and the 4 great captains all head their own squads. Basically 4 xmen books one for each season. However I do like the idea of Cyclops and Magneto leading the new mutants. And you saod as a national guard so what did you mean like search out threats to the island or last line of defense or just maintain order? Very interesting. Especially because in my own head canon I would have never had Cable be a thing. The original Xforce would have been formed and lead by Scott or Magneto anyway

It’d be hard. The small doses keep the council imposing. Too much and it’d be like watching c-span, and you don’t want the council to become a super team. Cause that undermines it’s point.

Absolutely this! Instead what should happen or stand in its place is a team of mutants with each member selected by a council member to help other field teams or to have each team have a member that answers to a council member to prevent mutiny or some sort of coup (or at least that is the initial concept)
