    I would say Spiderman.
    Well… I respect him.

Most respected by the in-universe general public? Captain America.

Most respected by fellow superheroes? Spider-Man is up there with Cap. His jokes may grate, he gets way more s*** from the media (and consequently, the public) than he deserves, but among superheroes, there's almost no one else as willfully self-sacrificing as him, which is why even Captain America respects him so much.

On earth, cap, no question I feel

As a team on earth I'd say the FF

Ben and Luke tie for respect off other heroes for personal integrity

Sue amongst the heroes for her influence

Across the universe I'd say reed has the biggest rep, certainly in the cosmic realms so to speak

Aside from being a superhero I'd say tchalla as a world statesmen

For being the one you don't wanna cross I'd say Thor away from earth, wolverine ties this on earth

    Kamala amongst younger generation

Across the mystic realms Dr strange

But generally, the answer is cap

    Captain America.

Anytime he's in the room he's in charge. Even in Infinity, when he's in a story with people who rule galactic empires, Steve is in charge in the end. Put him in a story with heroes from another universe, including Batman and Superman, and by the end he is in charge. That's his real super power.

Captain america. Even during world war hulk when dr strange could not get into hulks mind due to his defenses in his head, rick telling hulk cap was dead shocked hulk so much he let his guard down and let dr strange in!

Plus jla vs avengers both teams pick cap to lead in issue 4 and even batman trusted cap to the point he let him into the batcave.

Spider-man while hated by people seems to have some good respect at times with his fellow heroes. Friends with torch, hulk (marvel tends to forget they were friends in marvel team up), man-thing, and captain britain among others. Has hung out with fantastic four for years, teamed up with almost every hero and even bad guys, been on many teams and even helped reform some of his foes into good guys!

Of course it's up to who writes him.

I am not surprised so many people said Captain America. But I am surprised at the Spiderman answers. In the few modern titles I have read that had Spiderman with any other hero other then Fantastic Four or Daredevil, like when he was on the Avengers I see Spiderman written as a jokester and the other heroes treating him as such.

Yep, and any writer who would dare write differently would be branded a socialist or a Communist, or something un-American, and told to leave the country...by way of China.

With Marvel it's pretty clear cut, but I think DC has a bit more of a contest with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman all being widely respected in the civilian and hero populations. Just roll a 3-sided dice and it's settled. You'd follow any of the three into battle. Give it another 10 years and maybe Carol Danvers, T'Challa, etc., will equal Cap in that regard. All it takes is a decade or two of favorable scripts and constant, consistent promotion from Marvel.

Captain America, but I also think Black Panther is nearly his equal nowadays.

People respect T'Challa but there's always a slight distrust or worry over his loyalties to Wakanda or his own secrets. Cap is pretty much an open book and is loyal to the dream more then he is America in isolation (not that T'Challa only cares about Wakanda, but it's more complicated for him since he's their king).

True, and I think that's the only thing stopping him of becoming an equal to Rogers. T'Challa is Machiavellian enough to sow seeds of distrust in some.
