Default Best TV Dads - In Honor of Father's Day

I made a thread for tv mothers, so here's one for tv dads. Who do you think were tv's best dads?

    Mine:

Andy Taylor - The Andy Griffith Show
Ward Cleaver - Leave It To Beaver
Mike Brady - The Brady Bunch
Cliff Huxtable - The Cosby Show
    John Walton - The Waltons
Phil Banks - Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Jack Pearson - This Is Us
Charles Ingalls - Little House On The Prairie
    Tim Taylor - Home Improvement
    Howard Cunningham - Happy Days

I think fathers often get the short-shrift on TV -- either being absent entirely (lots more widows and single moms on TV than single dads) or being made to look buffoonish in domestic situations.

However, I'd go with Mike Brady and Howard Cunningham as two of the best from my young TV watching years.

Dan Conner from Roseanne was also a good later-era father.

Off the top of my head, my partial list of fathers who played an important role on the show of being a father:
    Lucas McCain - The Rifleman
    Ben Cartwright - Bonanza
Charles Ingalls - Little House on the Prairie.
Ward Cleaver - Leave it to Beaver
Andy Taylor - The Andy Griffith Show
Jed Clampett - The Beverly Hillbillies
    Bruce Wayne - Batman
Red Forman - That 70's Show
    George Cooper - Young Sheldon
    Dan Conner - Roseanne

I loved the strong bond between this two characters. And my favorite episode of DS9 The Visitor showed just how strong this bond was. That episode always gets to me. And the cool thing is how close the two acotrs became off the set and remain very good freinds to this day despite the age difference.

    Good ol' Tony Micelli.

I watched way too much episodes of who's the boss as a kid to not talk about that dude.

And yes, of course, as some others have already mentioned : Charles "we just can't get a break" Ingalls.

Poor bastard, if there is a god he sure hated on the Ingalls quite a lot for some celestial reasons.

You want a fake ass TV dad or a TV dad who was more like a real deal. For real deal you can't beat Red Forman.
