Will entertainment become more escapist or topical after 2020?

Between global pandemic and social unrest, 2020 has been one of the most difficult years in human history. You'd have to go back to the era of the Great Depression and World War II to find a time when humanity endured such turmoil.

What do you think this means for the future of entertainment? Will audiences and providers seek out topical material that confronts today's crises head-on, or will entertainment take a more escapist turn as people wish to distance themselves from these hard times and seek pleasure and fun?

Both, though hopefully we'll get more Trump parodies. SNL aside, I don't recall seeing many.
