Default Opinions on Firefly Legacy (Boom Studios)

Just watched the Firefly series (via Amazon Prime).

Really enjoyed. Are the storylines in the comics of comparable quality? Opinions, please...tempted to get them unless the assembled verdict is that they aren’t good

I can't speak for the Boom series, but when the Firefly/Serenity license was under Dark Horse there were several very solid mini-series, and OGNs. I believe Boom has since reprinted them all over 3 or 4 volumes.
Continuity, even in a "shared" comics universe is often insignificant if not largely detrimental to the quality of a comic.

Nobody cares about what you don't like, they barely care about what you do like.

Is Boom the latest publisher? Where-ever they came from, the latest, pre-virus times, series was only okay for me; never got past the pictures not picturing the actors very well (and, in fact, many times lost track of who was whom pictorially), and I found the extended storylines lacking the punch and wit of the single episodes of the TV series. I agree, though, that earlier (DH?) series were pretty darn good.

I only buy “comics” via comiXology nowadays...having got tired of the faff of storing them and wandering where the hell I’d put a particular series that I wanted to reread..so not sure who latest physical publisher is.

When I searched comiXology for “Firefly” the only thing that came was a couple of Boom omnibus collections that effectively collects material originally published by Dark Horse between 2007 and 2014.
